**about six people, waiting for a venue to**
**appear so we start the workshop, meet**
**each month for a social drink and catch**
**up and to discuss ideas for the venue.**
**Winter 23: two weeks before Christmas -**
**News of a possible venue. Positive Vibes**
**from the Hotel Landlady but not her**
**decision. We wait for owners offer for**
**two months!**
**Spring 24: The venue is in a virtually un-**
**inhabitable state, offer of 3months free**
**rent with £500/mth to follow. We had**
**£450 in the Bank. We pressed for a better**
**offer.**
**Summer 24: Decided to try for CIO**
**status. Success! on the 8th August 24**
**we were a charity. The Offer arrives - 12**
**months rent free! Accepted, Lease takes**
**a while to come though.**
**Winter 24: Get accepted for Co-op**
**Community funding 24/25. Mid**
**November and we’re in! 3 months hard**
**work to renovate the whole building**
**inside, EVERYTHING, plasterboard,**
**Sterling Board, Insulation, Carpets,**
**Desks and Chairs and a complete re-wire**
**(almost) DONATED! We did almost**
**everything ourselves.**
**1st March: Open Day: And we’re off. Six**
**months of making and mending, sorting**
**and stacking. To date we have 20 payed**
**up members. We have made 3 large**
**Garden Truggs, Numerous bird boxes,**
**fixed several dining chairs. We are now**
**ready to start producing and repairing**
