## **Objectives and achievements**
To advance the Christian faith in accordance with the statement of faith appearing in our constitution in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the trustees of the charity may from time to time think fit.
## **Summary of the main activities are:**
- •Weekly Sunday services
- •Discipleship Bible Studies
- •Sunday School & Youth Ministry
- •Young Adults Ministry
- •Over-60’s ministry
- •Men & Women’s outreaches & events
- •Community Outreaches
- •Pastoral care to those in need
The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty under the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
## **Achievements and Performance**
Over the past year, the church has grown, both spiritually and numerically, with Sunday worship services drawing 90–120 attendees and monthly mid-week evening gatherings uniting the whole congregation.
Weekly small-group Bible studies in Ringwood, Bournemouth, and Poole have deepened community connections and discipleship.
The Sunday School expanded its teaching team and now serves around 20–30 children each week, while the youth group of 6–10 teens has shown strong spiritual development and a desire to serve.
The young adults’ ministry continues to thrive as a vital link between youth and the wider church, fostering faith, fellowship, and leadership.
The Veterans (over-60s) group, launched during COVID, remains a vibrant source of encouragement through regular online and in-person meetings.
Men’s Breakfast outreaches and Ladies’ Tea events have both grown in attendance and impact within the community, serving as key opportunities for fellowship and outreach. Additionally, monthly community coffee and tea mornings—with free refreshments and a small food pantry—have provided meaningful engagement with the wider Kinson community and opportunities to share faith in practical ways.
The pastoral team continued to provide home visits and support for those in need—including the sick, elderly, and those seeking spiritual guidance and discipleship.

The Church transitioned from a Limited Company to a Charity CIO on 07.08.2024. Starting assets transferred to the CIO totalled £18,012, being made up of £17,145 (unrestricted funds) and £867 (restricted funds).

## **TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILITIES**
The Charities Act 2011 require the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year. In preparing those financial statements the trustees are required to:
- Select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently;
- Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
- Prepare financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the trust will continue in existence.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records, which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the trust. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the trust and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT ON THE ACCOUNTS**
Report to the trustees/members of Bournemouth Christian Church on the accounts for the 8 months period ended 31st March 2025 set out on pages 7 to 10.
## **Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the charity trustees of the CIO, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the CIO’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner's statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or
- the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **5. PAYMENTS TO TRUSTEES**
Two trustees received a total of £4,050 in the financial period for their out of pocket expenses related to flight, accommodation and fuel costs that occurred while fulfilling their pastoral roles.
## **6. PUBLIC BENEFIT**
The charity acknowledges its requirement to demonstrate clearly that it must have charitable purposes or ‘aims’ that are for the public benefit. Details of how the charity has achieved this are provided in the Trustees report. The Trustees confirm that they have paid due regard to the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit before deciding what activities the charity should undertake.
