About Us
Al-Mizaan Foundation is a UK registered charity, charity number 1209491. The charity was established in September 2022 and was registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 7 August 2024. We provide humanitarian assistance to vulnerable communities in Pakistan and Morocco, helping families access clean water, food, healthcare, education and sustainable livelihoods.
Our Objectives

Provide humanitarian relief to vulnerable individuals and families experiencing poverty, hardship, and crisis.

Improve access to clean and safe water through sustainable water projects that reduce waterborne diseases and improve quality of life.

Combat hunger and food insecurity by providing food parcels, warm meals, Ramadan iftaars, Eid food support, and Qurbani meat distribution.

Improve health and wellbeing by funding essential medical Interventions such as cataract surgeries and providing mobility aids including wheelchairs.

Promote education by supplying school stationery packs and helping children access learning opportunities.

Support sustainable livelihoods by providing income-generating assets such as sewing machines and fruit & vegetable carts, enabling families to become financially independent

Support widows and vulnerable households through targeted assistance that restores dignity and provides angoing support.

Distribute Zakat Sadaqah responsibly in accordance with slamic principles to those who are eligible and most in need.

Operate with transparency, accountability and integrity, ensuring donors have confidence that their contributions create meaningful impact.
Public Benefit
In planning and undertaking our activities the trustees have considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit and are satisfied that these activities were carried out for the public benefit.
The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of Section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
Achievements and Performance
Main Achievements
During the reporting period from 7 August 2024 to 1 October 2025, Al-Mizaan Foundation continued to deliver humanitarian assistance across Pakistan and Morocco. Through the generosity of our donors, we successfully translated charitable contributions into practical, life-changing support for thousands of beneficiaries.
To achieve our objective of improving access to clean water, we funded and installed small hand pumps, large communal hand pumps, motor pumps and water filtration plants, providing families and entire communities with reliable access to safe drinking water.
To reduce hunger and support vulnerable families, we distributed monthly food parcels, organised community iftaars throughout Ramadan, delivered Eid food parcels, provided warm cooked meals, and carried out our annual Qurbani meat distribution, ensuring families were able to celebrate Eid with dignity.
To improve health and wellbeing, we funded eye cataract surgeries, Individuals suffering from preventable blindness, while also providing wheelchairs to surgeries, restoring sight to those with limited mobility, helping them regain independence.
We continued our commitment to education by distributing school stationery packs, helping children begin their education with the essential materials needed to learn.
Recognising that long-term poverty cannot be addressed through emergency aid alone, we invested in livelihood projects, including sewing machines and fruit and vegetable carts, enabling beneficiaries to generate sustainable incomes and support their families with dignity.

We also supported widows and vulnerable households through widow support packs, alongside the responsible distribution of Zakat and Sadaqah funds to those most in need.
Throughout the year, every project delivered in accordance with our 100% Donation Policy, ensuring that donations were used exclusively for their intended charitable purpose. This commitment reflects our dedication to transparency, accountability and the trust placed in us by our supporters

Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing the financial statements the trustees are required to:

select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; observe the methods and principles in the Charity SORP;
-
make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent; and
-
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at anytime the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the accounts comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
The trustees are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial information included on the charity's website. Legislation in the United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of AL-MIZAAN FOUNDATION (the Trust) for the period ended 1 October 2025.
Responsibilities and Basis of Report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent Examiner's Statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and contents of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view' which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1. General Information
AL-MIZAAN FOUNDATION is a charitable incorporated organisation registered with the Charity Commission, registered charity number 1209491. The principal address is 5 Craven Terrace, Hopwood Lane, Halifax, West Yorkshire, HX1 4DY.
2. Statement of Compliance
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) "Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)", Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Charities Act 2011.
3. Accounting Policies
3.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
3.2. Going Concern Disclosure
The trustees have not identified any material uncertainties related to events or conditions that may cast significant doubt about the charity's ability to continue as a going concern.
3.3. Cash and Cash Equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents are basic financial assets and include cash in hand and deposits held at call with banks, other short-term highly liquid investments that mature in no more than three months from the date of acquisition and are readily convertible to a known amount of cash with insignificant risk of change in value, and bank overdrafts.

During the year, AL-MIZAAN FOUNDATION incurred bank charges in the ordinary course of carrying out its charitable activities. These charges were paid during the year and are included within the financial statements.
The charity operates a 100% donations policy wherever practicable, with the intention that donations received for charitable purposes are applied directly to delivering the charity's charitable objectives and activities.
To support this policy, the trustees collected specific voluntary contributions from donors to meet the charity's essential administrative and governance costs, including bank charges and other necessary operating expenses. These funds were received solely for the purpose of covering such costs and were accounted for accordingly.
The trustees consider these expenditure items to be reasonable, necessary and in the best interests of the charity, as they enable the charity to operate effectively whilst ensuring that charitable donations continue to be used as intended for the benefit of its beneficiaries wherever possible.
