Water Rangers has worked in collaboration with a number of groups and companies with similar objectives. This includes the Rivers Trust, the South East Rivers Trust, the catchment partnerships, Thames 21, the Environment Agency, and relevant water companies. In providing an open database for the collection and sharing of water quality information, Water Rangers has contributed this information to support national programmes and projects. (viz CaSTCo, and Freshwater Watch). Working locally with schools and contributing to the STEMorganisation, |
| registering 500 hours of activity in schools and related educational events. The charity has collected sponsorship from public and local government and works alongside local groups and charitable trusts to source funding and provide water quality testing equipment. |

The charity has engaged with groups in several areas, providing a positive approach to voluntary efforts, and working with such as Mental Health Swims, and other water users to provide knowledge and engagement with understanding the use and risks of water use in our rivers. |

Para 1.20 | In a successful first year of operation, Water Rangers has been able to support 51 organisations in the UK with the provision of water quality testing kits to volunteers. This enabled 689 test locations to be sampled to give 5,250 separate observations giving 64,372 datapoints. This information is made available on an open database for public access, and is shared with many organisations, also forming part of the CaSTCo open data hub. Provision of these data allows a clearer understanding of the state of local water bodies, identifying problem areas, and enabling users to better understand any risks in water based activities. |
