1. Trustee Annual Report
Objectives and Activities
The charity’s objective is to advance education and community participation in the arts through the promotion and development of gospel music among young people in Norwich and the surrounding area.
Public Benefit
The trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. The charity advances education and community participation in the arts by encouraging young people to participate in gospel music, developing musical skills, and providing opportunities for community engagement through performances and musical activities.
Achievements and Performance
During the year the charity received voluntary donations totalling £7,310, which supported the charity’s early development and activities.
Financial Review
Total income for the period was £7,310 and total expenditure was £569, resulting in net funds of £6,741 held in the charity’s bank account at the end of the period.
Reserves Policy
The trustees currently retain unrestricted funds to support future choir activities, community engagement initiatives, and general operating costs.
Structure, Governance and Management
Norwich Youth Gospel Choir is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by its constitution and managed by its trustees.
2. Statement of Trustee Responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustee Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom accounting standards. The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records and for safeguarding the assets of the charity.

Basis of preparation: The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Charities Act 2011.

Accounting period: The charity was established during the year, and these accounts cover the period from 1 August 2024 to 30 June 2025.
Income: Income during the year consisted entirely of voluntary donations.
Payments: The payment of £500 represents a contribution towards church facilities and support for activities connected with the charity’s gospel music ministry and youth choir development.
