1. Objectives and Activities
Hub4Stuff exists to reduce furniture poverty and prevent usable household items from going to landfill.
The charity collects donated, good-quality furniture and redistributes it free of charge to individuals and families in need across the local community.
Our aims during the year were to:

provide essential furniture to households experiencing hardship;

support local people, including those facing mental health challenges or social isolation, through volunteering opportunities;

reduce waste by reusing and recycling donated goods.
The trustees confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity’s aims and planning activities.
2. Achievements and Performance
During the year the charity continued to operate our furniture collection and redistribution service from our community hub.
Key achievements include:

Supporting over 1,500 families since the charity began.

Saving approximately 5,000 pieces of furniture from landfill.

Providing meaningful volunteering opportunities.

Maintaining a reliable delivery and collection service.

Strengthening community partnerships and referrals.
3. Financial Review
Hub4Stuff remains financially stable with income under £25,000.
Income consisted mainly of small grants, individual donations, fundraising, and contributions.
Expenditure related to vehicle running costs, hub operations, essential item purchases, and administration.
The trustees consider the financial position satisfactory.
The accounts are prepared on an historic cash basis and rendered on the basis of an ongoing concern. We have a policy of maintaining a strategic reserve of £3,000.

4. Structure, Governance and Management
Hub4Stuff is governed by its trustees and run entirely by volunteers. The trustees oversee operations, finances, compliance, and volunteer support.
5. Risk Management
Risks monitored include safeguarding, governance, data protection, and vehicle safety.
Controls include volunteer guidelines, insurance, and prudent financial management.
6. Plans for the Future
Plans include continuing service delivery, expanding volunteer support, improving operational efficiency, and securing small grants.
