Youn8 artists will k assisted by the provision of education, workshops, training and career development. Instrumentalist of the World is a new charithble music organisation founded by lan Roberts, a respected iniernaiional music competition and festival director and producer. thai will produc¢ a new international classical music competition held in Bexhill-on-sea, a music education programme for ¢hildren and young people in East Sussex and y¢ar round concerts featuring British and iniemaiional artisis. The charity wa5 launched on 12th October 2024 with a spectscular ¢on¢¢rt at ihe De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill-on-sea, with the BBC Concert Orchesira and iniernational solo instrumenialists.- Amy Dickson. Plinio Femandes and Laure Chan. Amy Dtckson is a Grammy-nominated and Classical Bril Award-winning saxophonist. who perfom¢d John Williams's Escapades Saxophon¢ Concerto. Plinio Fernandes 15 a tk¢ca Gold Recording Artist, who p¢rformed the Rodrigo Guitar Concierto de Aranjuez. Laure Chan is a BBC Music Magazine Rising Star and is on Classic FM'S "30 under 30" lisi who perfomied Bruch's Violin Con¢¢rto. THE COMPETITION The first ¢ompeiiiion will take place in 2026 and will welcome international competilor5 of all instruments (¢xcept piano) aged 18-30 who will compet¢ for the title Instrumenialist of the World with the Jury President being Paul Hughes. fornier Director of ihe BBC Symphony Orchestra. Three finalists will each give a concerto perfoTman¢e with orchestra at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-sea, th¢ Competition's home. The charity will produce a progrnmme of rnusie education for school children and youn8 people and will shine a spotlight on world class live classical music audience experiences for the Rother and East Sussex communitl¢S. The compdition is a major addition to the UK classical music calendar.
