TRUSTEES REPORT:
Introduction
The Trustees of Al Mueen Foundation are pleased to present their Annual Report for the year ended 2025. During the year, the Foundation remained a small charity with a modest level of activity, focusing primarily on building a sustainable fund to support educational projects in Sylhet, Bangladesh. Governing Document: Al-Mueen Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Foundation) registered with the Charity Commission and governed by its Constitution. The Foundation was registered as a charity by the Charity Commission on 24 July 2024. At present, the Foundation is a sma new charity with modest levels of income and expenditure. It is managed by three trustees who are responsible for the day-to-day governance and administration of the charity. The Foundation has no employees. The trustees are committed to ensuring that appropriate due diligence is undertaken in relation to all charitable activities. They monitor the application and use of funds to ensure they are used for their intended purposes and seek to achieve value for money in the delivery of the Foundation's projects. Aims and Objectives The charitable objects of Al-Mueen Foundation are to promote the public benefit through the relief of poverty, particularly, but not exclusively, in Bangladesh. The Foundation seeks to achieve this by providing, or assisting in the provision of, healthcare, clean water and sanitation projects, food, clothing, bedding, shelter and shelter repairs for those in need. The Foundation also supports access to education by providing textbooks, school meals, uniforms and other educational assistance to disadvantaged students. In addition, it may undertake such other charitable projects as the Trustees determine from time to time in furtherance of its charitable purposes. Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. There was limited charitable activity during the year, reflecting the Foundation's small scale of operations. However, the Trustees are pleased to report the following financial outcomes: Total income: £9,340 Total expenditure: £5,136 Net funds carried forward: £4,204 Although these amounts are modest, they represent steady progress towards the Foundation's objective of building a sustainable fund that will enable it to provide meaningful support for educational projects in Bangladesh in future years
Challenges The Trustees recognise that the current fundraising environment remains challenging. Many donors are understandably prioritising humanitarian and emergency relief initiatives, making it more difficult for smaller charities such as Al-Mueen Foundation to secure funding for long-term educational projects. The Trustees remain committed to developing sustainable sources of income and will continue to explore cost-effective, community-based fundraising initiatives to support the Foundation's charitable objectives. Future Plans The Foundation's immediate priority is to continue building its unrestricted reserves to a sustainable level that will enable it to provide regular financial support for educational projects in Bangladesh. Once sufficient funds have been accumulated, the Trustees will determine the most effective allocation of resources, balancing the Foundation's operational requirements with financial support for educational projects, including capital expenditure where appropriate. Risk Management The Trustees have considered the principal risks to which the Foundation may be exposed, including financial, operational and reputational risks. Where risks have been identified, appropriate policies, procedures and internal controls have been established to mitigate their potential impact. The Trustees will continue to review the Foundation's risk management framework on a regular basis to ensure that risks are appropriately monitored and managed as the charity develops.
