## **Structure, Governance and Management** 

The charity is a **Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)** governed by its constitution. Trustees are appointed in accordance with the constitution and are responsible for the strategic direction and management of the charity. 

New trustees are provided with information about the charity’s purposes, governing documents and their responsibilities as trustees. 

## **Objects and Public Benefit** 

The objects of the charity are: 

THE OBJECTS FOR WHICH THE CIO IS ESTABLISHED IS THE PREVENTION AND REDUCTION OF LOSS OF LIFE ON EXMOUTH BEACH OR AREAS AGREED WITH THE DISTRICT COUNCIL BY: THE PROMOTION AND PROVISION OF SURF LIFESAVING QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING IN WATER SAFETY, RESCUE, LIFESAVING, COACHING, RESUSCITATION AND FIRST AID; THE PROMOTION AND ORGANISATION OF LIFESAVING AND RESCUE, BEACH AND POOL TRAINING, WATER SPORTS AND LIFESAVING ACTIVITIES FOR TRAINING, RECREATION AND ENJOYMENT THAT ENCOURAGE FITNESS, TEAM WORK, RESPONSIBILITY AND EXCELLENCE IN 



PURSUIT OF THESE OBJECTS; THE PROMOTION OF AND THE PROVISION OF VOLUNTARY LIFESAVING AND RESCUE SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC AT LARGE; THE PROVISION OF LIFESAVING SAFETY AWARENESS AND PREVENTION OF DROWNING INFORMATION; THE PROMOTION OF THE CIO AND ITS ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY; 

The trustees confirm that they have referred to the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity’s aims and planning its activities. 

## **Activities and Achievements** 

The charity was formed to replace the existing Registered Charity, Exmouth Beach Rescue Club (No.1025654). During this report period the existing Registered Charity continued its activities, and no transfer of assets was made to the new charity due the lack of volunteer time. 

This transfer will take place in 2026 at which time the Registered Charity will be closed and all activity moved to the new charity. 

## **Financial Review** 

During this period there was no financial activity as the transfer of assets from Registered Charity Exmouth Beach Rescue Club (No.1025654) had not yet taken place. 

Total income was £0 

Total expenditure was £0 

## **Reserves Policy** 

The trustees aim to maintain sufficient reserves to support the charity’s activities and manage unforeseen costs. At the year end the charity held no reserves as the transfer from the Registered Charity Exmouth Beach Rescue Club (No.1025654) had not yet taken place. 

## **Plans for Future Periods** 

The charity plans to transfer the assets from the Registered Charity Exmouth Beach Rescue Club (No.1025654) during 2026 as approved by their committee. It will then continue the current activities of the Registered Charity and explore opportunities to expand services and funding to further support its charitable objectives.
