## **REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES**
## **FOR THE ACCOUNTING PERIOD FROM 17[TH] JULY 2024 TO 31[ST] AUGUST 2025**
The Trustees have pleasure in submitting the Report and Accounts for the period 17th July 2024 to 31st August 2025. This is more than one year as the Charity was registered on 17th July 2024 and this is the first Report and Accounts.
## **Objects of the charity**
The charity, which is a church, is governed by a constitution and is constituted as a charitable incorporated organisation. The charity's principal objects, as set out in its governing document, are:
- a. to advance the Christian religion in accordance with the subordinate standard of faith as defined in the Book of Church Order of the International Presbyterian Church (BCO) applicable to the congregation in Coventry and in other parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Trustees from time to time think fit and to fulfil such other purposes consistent with the BCO which are exclusively charitable according to the law of England and Wales and are connected with the charitable work of the Trust.
- b. to relieve persons who are in conditions of need or hardship or who are aged or sick and to relieve the distress caused thereby in the said location and in such other parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the trustees may from time to time think fit.
## **Summary of the charity’s main activities and achievements**
To further the above objects and vision, the charity's main activities and achievements were as follows:
As this was the first year of Grace Church’s existence, we focussed on starting strongly with the central activities of the church.
## **A. Sunday Worship Services**
We started our main activity, which is the 10.30am Sunday worship service; the first one was held on 1st September 2024 and every week thereafter. We held additional services for Christmas and Easter, and once a month we had an extra evening service focussed on prayer. Attendance at our main services fluctuated but was generally in the 15-25 range with a handful of children.
## **B. Midweek Meetings**
Starting in November, every Thursday we gathered to eat together and study the Bible.
## **C. Mentoring.**
One of Grace Church’s aims is to provide personal mentoring to those who want it, with a particular focus on spiritual direction, study of the Bible, and prayer. Our minister Peter met with several people who attend the church for this purpose, some for one-off conversations and some on a regular basis.
## **Future Plans**
As the church becomes more established, we aim over the next couple of years to start some additional ministries, including some form of children’s work, ministries to men and women, and a deacons’ ministry aimed at relieving material hardship.
In planning the activities, the Trustees have applied the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission.
## **Financial Review**
In this financial period, receipts were £110,226 and payments £39,239. As a result, the cash held by the charity was £70,987 all of which was unrestricted and can be used for any charitable purpose. Income from members' regular giving already provides 50% of the churches financial needs.

## **TO THE TRUSTEES OF**
## **GRACE CHURCH COVENTRY**
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31[st] August 2025.
## **Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner's statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or
- the accounts do not accord with the accounting record
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **1. Statutory Information**
The charity is a charitable incorporated organisation whose registered number and registered office address are detailed on page 2 of this report and accounts.
## **2. Period of accounts**
This is the first set of accounts for the charity and therefore cover more than one year (17[th] July 2024 to 31[st] August 2025).
## **3. Basis of Accounting**
The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis and comprise the summary statement of the charity’s receipts and payments, a statement summarising the charity’s assets and liabilities, and related notes.
