## **Objectives and Activities**

Clare’s Initiative was established for the public benefit to advance in life, relieve the needs of, and support young people aged 18–26 who are permanently resident in the UK and from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds. The charity seeks to achieve this through the provision of mentoring, placements, guidance, support, and financial assistance to enable beneficiaries to explore and pursue careers in the space sector.

During the reporting period, no direct charitable activities were delivered. The trustees focused on background research and strategic planning to determine how best to work towards the charity’s objectives in a sustainable and effective manner. This included initial feasibility work relating to the potential development of a mentorship programme aligned with the charity’s purposes.

In planning the charity’s future activities, the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

## **Achievements and Performance**

As this was the charity’s first reporting period following registration, and given the absence of operational activity, there are no charitable outputs or outcomes to report for the period.

The trustees consider the work undertaken during the year to be preparatory in nature. Time was invested in understanding the practical, safeguarding, governance, and resource implications of delivering mentoring and support programmes for the charity’s intended beneficiary group. This groundwork is intended to support well-governed and impactful activities in future periods.

Due to trustee workload and capacity constraints, the implementation of planned activities has been postponed.

## **Financial Review**

The charity had no income and no expenditure during the reporting period. No bank account was opened, and the charity held no cash, assets, or liabilities at the end of the period.

The trustees have determined that it is not currently necessary for the charity to hold financial reserves, given that no operational or fundraising activities were undertaken during the year.

The trustees are satisfied that the charity remains a going concern.

## **Structure, Governance and Management**

Clare’s Initiative is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation governed by its Constitution dated 12 July 2024.

The charity is managed by its trustees, who are also the only members of the CIO. Trustees are appointed in accordance with the provisions set out in the Constitution. No staff were employed during the reporting period, and all governance and planning activities were carried out by the trustees on a voluntary basis.

Day-to-day management and strategic decisions remain the responsibility of the trustees.

## **Plans for Future Periods**

The trustees intend to continue developing the charity’s strategic direction, with a view to implementing activities that further the charity’s objects when trustee capacity and resources allow. This includes revisiting the feasibility and design of a mentorship programme and assessing appropriate funding and delivery models.

## **Funds Held as Custodian Trustee on Behalf of Others**

The charity did not hold any funds as custodian trustee on behalf of others during the reporting period.
