Members have benefited from Spa Treatments, Reiki, Reflexology, Theatre Trip, Guest Speakers, Afternoon Tea, Kintsugi Workshop, Flower Arranging Workshop, Vouchers
## **1. INTRODUCTION**
## **1.1 CHARITABLE OBJECTS**
For the public benefit, to relieve the needs of women who have had a diagnosis of cancer, primarily through providing emotional support and guidance/advice, holistic therapies and recreational activities directed to relieving their needs and such other ways as the trustees may determine.
## **1.2 OVERVIEW**
To provide emotional support to women in the Cheshire area and beyond who have had a diagnosis of cancer. We aim to achieve this by building a social group by means of regular monthly meetings at which members socialise in a safe environment. To sign post for health care advice, access to non-medical therapies and also recreation for members.
## **2. ACTIVITIES & ACHIEVEMENTS**
## **2.1 Outputs & Outcomes**
During the year, Cheshire Roses delivered emotional support and guidance to women who had received a diagnosis of cancer, together with access to holistic therapies and recreational activities. These services were provided for the public benefit and were aimed at relieving the emotional and social needs arising from a cancer diagnosis. As a result of these activities, beneficiaries experienced reduced isolation, improved emotional wellbeing and increased confidence in coping with the challenges of their diagnosis. The trustees are satisfied that these outputs and outcomes directly furthered the charity’s objects and provided clear public benefit **.**
## **2.2 Policies on Grant-Making and/or Social Investments**
The charity does not make any grants, or make social or programme-related investments
## **2.3 The Roles & Contributions of Volunteers**
The trustees would like to acknowledge the contribution of volunteers, whose support was essential in delivering the charity’s activities.
## **2.4 How the Public Have Benefitted**
The trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity’s objectives and activities.
The organisation provides public benefit by supporting local women who have received a cancer diagnosis. Membership is restricted to women affected by cancer to ensure the charity’s resources are directed to those in need.

The charity offers pastoral support, social opportunities, and a supportive environment that promotes wellbeing and reduces isolation. In the absence of adequate local provision, Cheshire Roses delivers a unique service, **with increasing membership numbers demonstrating clear demand for and benefit from its activities** .
## **2.5 Looking Ahead**
Looking ahead, the trustees intend to:
- Maintain and improve activities
- Respond to identified need
In the coming year, the trustees plan to expand services to offer art workshops and additional meditation and therapeutic sessions and strengthen partnerships with local organisations.

## **3.4 Principal Sources of Funding**
Our main sources of income have been through our own fundraising activities/events which have been engagement with members of the public;
- An ABBA tribute evening held at a local venue, supported by other local businesses and volunteers
- Monthly Quiz nights
- Cream tea event with support of the local church and volunteers
- Sale of raffle tickets through the local Rotary
- Raffles held at meetings
Other funding has been through either personal donation, local businesses (raffles) and being chosen as one of the Mayor’s charity of the year.
## **3.5 Investments Policy & Objectives**
As Cheshire Roses has no social or ethical investments, appropriate policies are not necessary at this time.

All Trustees act in a voluntary capacity and receive no remuneration or other material benefits from their services to the Charity.
Out-of-pocket expenses necessarily and reasonably incurred by Trustees in promoting the purposes of the Charity are reimbursed at cost.

The Trustees declare that:
The charity has given no guarantees where potential liability under the guarantee is outstanding at the date of this statement (e.g.: any outstanding/ongoing contract or legal undertaking to buy or provide specific services);
The charity has no debt outstanding at the date of this statement which is owed by the CIO and which is secured by an express charge on any assets of the CIO (e.g.: a mortgage on property owned by the charity);

In accordance with the Constitution, Trustees are appointed for a term of five years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.
In appointing Trustees due consideration is given to ensuring that the Trustees have, between them, the skills and experience necessary to manage the charity effectively and in accordance with charity law.
