Chalr's report Home Run Hounds IHRHI began as a CIC in 2022with Dir8Ctors Clalre Butler and Tracey P8rbery. After 8ucce8sfully applying for Charity Ststus at the be8inning of 2024 the Charlty Commlssion tin8lly granted Horne Run Hounds full Charity Status In July of that year and became Home Run Hounds Greyhound Charity No. 1209071 currently headed up and run on 8 dally basis by Trustee. Volunteer and ChairTracey Parbery and Trustee and Volunteer Claire Butler {who origin8llyset upthe CIC In 2022). Home Run Hounds Greyhound Charlty Is 8 Volunteer led Ch8rlty where no $818rles 8re pald. guaranteeing that every penny raised is directed to the welfare of the Greyhound8 underthe Charitie8 care. Tracey has been Involved wlth Greyhounds for over 15 years and was Chalr of a Branch of 8 National Homing Charity for 5 years, winning an award tor homing excellence and homing over 1.000 greyhounds with her volunteer team before leaving and moving to Volunteer led Home Run Hound8 In 2022. Clalre called on her experlence from over 30 years wlth the breed Includingvolunteerlng 8tS8ver81"homln¢' ch8ritleswhlch gave hera Strongb8sls inwhlch to start8 newhomlng centr8, initlally incorpor8ted in 2022 as a CIC and with Tracey coming on board, branching out from 9 spaces at 8 kennels in Wombourne to 6 Branches across the UK th over 100 spaces. Home Run Hounds now has 6 srtes based In Womboume, Stourbrldge, Sh8nstone Nr Llchfield, Brandon in Suffolk, run by Ingrid Wright, Rixton Nr Warrington run by Joann8 Johnson andteamand Romford (Wickfoidl in Essex run byK8tie and Andrew Isaacwhere allthe hounds under HRH c8re relyon donatlon8to help th8 increasing number of rotlrlng greyhounds It18 now 8S8iSting. As of late 2024 Home Run Hounds was reglstered wlth the Fundra131ng Regulator and appears In theEUodrnl0n the official Fundraislng Regulator website. showlng we have committed to follow the Code of Fundraislng Practlce and the Fundraising Promise.
Homlng Success Rigorous vetting of potential homes and matchlng hounds wlth suitable f8mllles meant that atthe end of 2025 HRH had successfully homed 353 ex-racing Greyhound8 across GB. Europe. America and Canada. Our Phllosophy To look for 'forever" homés for retSr6d ex-raclng Gresthounds of all ages, conslderlng th8 n88ds of the Greyhounds and Adopters to ensure the best experience of adopting a Greyhound is achleved, whlist also 8SSiSting the surrounding Community in a positive mannerthrough both mental and physical interaction. Our Organ18atlon Home Run Hounds galned Ch8rity status in July 2024 Charlty No 1209071, where all monles raised 8re devoted to the needs of the Greyhounds In our care. Here, welfare18 paramount and the future of our Greyhounds as pets 18 piomoted acr088 all ages. Greyhounds are still not s88n by the wid8r'Dog Lovin¢, publlc 88 pets although they are the m08t loving of breed8 and from birth develop a strong connectlon with thelr human counterpart8. Home Run Hounds offer8wider opportunities to learn aboutthe breed bythelr Foster-to- Adopt scheme whlch means that potentlal adopters, havlng chosen 8 Potentlal new f8mily m6mber, c8nfosterth8t hound for 2weeks {or longer) to see If both pet and famlly are Suited. We believe the Hom8 Run Hounds Greyhound Charity makes a dtfference and from our Visits and int8r8Ctions so far, we are pleased to see we mak8 a difference for people residingand working in ourareas. Investment Pollcy The Trustees havtng regard to the liquidity requirements of operating 8 6 Branch Homing Centre have kept available funds In Interest bearing deposit accounts across all 6 Branches and seeks to 8chieve a rate on deposit which matches or exc68ds inflation 8$ m8asur8d bythe retailprice index. Obviously, this is rellanton economic circumstances at the time. Reserves Poilcy and Golng Concern Reserves are needed to bridge the gap between the spending and receiifjng of Income and to cover unp18nn8d emèrgency expenditur8. The Trustees consider that the ideal 18v81 of reserves 8S 8t30.11.2518 £100,000. This sum has be8n 8chi8ved. and the Charity remains a credible going concern 8s It moves into a newfinancialyear.
Future Plans The Charity has no immediate plans to extend Its Branches at this present time unless a Bensible going conc8m becomes avaitable. HRH looks to consolid8t8 those Branches now under HRH to ensure they are able to contlnue to flnd loving homes for ex-racing greyhounds. There are plans to irnprov8 facilities at our Branch8s as and Mthen needed whlch can include new fenclng. new storage facilities. new office space along with better tran8POrtlambu18nc8 f8cllltle8. This can only be done wlth the avaiiabiilty of Grants or speclflc donatjons as no moni85 ralsed will be spenton such facilities {unless urgent) as ali monles go tothe Greyhound8 In our care.
