OBJECTS OF THE CANOLFAN EIRIANFA CENTRE
The Charity's objects are:

(a) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Denbigh and the neighbourhood thereof without distinction of gender, sexual orientation, race or of political religious or other opinions, by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants".

(b) to establish, or secure the establishment of Eirianfa, and to maintain and manage the same (whether alone or in co-operation with any statutory or voluntary body or other person or body) in furtherance of these objects.
The Association will be non-party in politics and non-sectarian in religion.

CHAIRMAN’S ANNUAL REPORT
Once again, it has been a busy year at the centre and I can now confirm that the proposed change of charitable status took place on 8 July 2024. Consequently, the Canolfan Eirianfa Centre is now a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) with the charity number 1209023. This is no way affects the stated aims of the charity, and we remain deeply committed to serving our local community.
I must begin by thanking our Trustees for their continued support and input. I reported last year that Ifan Jenkins was stepping down as Grace Church representative and I am delighted to report the safe arrival of his son and his replacement on the Management Committee by Lynne Dumayne. Also joining us this year were Sarah Davies who runs the Shine Theatre Group and Nicolas Waterfield representing the Community Fridge. At a time when many organisations are reporting difficulties in attracting volunteers, we are both grateful for and invigorated by their contributions to discussions. Mary Dent has stepped down as Treasurer and this position is now held by Geoff Graham, a retired accountant who will bring his extensive experience to the Centre. Mary continues to prepare the monthly invoices and sits on our Finance Committee, so she is still very much involved in the running of the Centre.
I am happy to report that we have a new member of staff in Annie Roberts who has joined us to provide administrative support. In particular, Annie will be developing a new website for the Canolfan Eirianfa Centre and will be handling our social media interactions. We are delighted to welcome Annie to the team and look forward to seeing the website take shape.
As ever, we have been proactive in seeking out grant support for projects at the Centre and I know many of our regular user groups provided letters of support for a large grant application made to the Brenig Wind Farm community fund. I am delighted to say that the application was successful and as a result, we have been able to install insulation to the ground floor rooms and office spaces. We are hopeful that this will help to control heat loss, making the rooms cosier for our Centre users during the colder winter months and, hopefully, helping to keep the heating costs down. We are also grateful to Breedon Quarry in Denbigh, who offered their time to clear the garden areas to the side of the Eirianfa building so that we can make them into more usable seating areas. A further grant has been submitted the Welsh Churches Act fund which, if successful, will enable us to buy some seating.
However, despite the very positive developments we have noted, this year has not been without its challenges. In January, the Centre suffered damage following a vehicle collision at the front of the building. Thankfully, no-one was injured in the collision, but it nevertheless caused damage both externally and internally to Meeting Room 1. We have been working closely with the insurance company and their chosen contactors to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out and I am pleased to report that this work will take place over the quieter summer period of July/August 2025. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have been directly impacted by this incident. Your willingness to adapt and accept room changes where necessary has not gone unnoticed and is much appreciated. We thank you all for your understanding. Moreover, we have been lucky enough to benefit from a £1000.00 donation from the Screwfix foundation that will enable us to redecorate large areas of the ground floor when the builders have completed their repairs, so by the autumn the Centre will be fully restored, ready to meet the challenges of the coming year.
Above all, I want to thank Jo for her work and achievements during this year. It is she who has taken the initiative in applying for grants, in the relentless pursuit of the car insurers about the damage to the entrance and who has coordinated all work in the Centre. She seems unphased by whatever is thrown at her, organizes and amends arrangements without fuss and smiles throughout. We are so fortunate to have her as our manager. Thank you Jo.

MANAGER’S REPORT
I am pleased to report that it has been a very busy year for the Canolfan Eirianfa Centre and our regular groups – and new arrivals - are keeping the Centre buzzing! Of course, things never stay the same and we have we have lost some friends along the way. Katherine Henderson who ran the Mini Mozarts group is now focusing on delivery in schools and our friends from MIND Cymru have now moved into their new premises in Y Farchnad Fenyn/The Buttermarket, following the refurbishment of the building. We wish them both well.
In addition to our regular groups, we have seen a marked increase in the number of groups and organisations using the Centre for short courses and outreach work. For example, Caernarfon based Y Bont have set up sessions for Denbighshire residents, Addsyg Oedolion ran a short course for crafting skills, North Wales Community Law offer free legal advice on housing issues, Activities for You work with families to provide a range of practical skills development and Itec Skills have used the Eirianfa as a testing centre for their courses.
It has also been rewarding to note the increased crossover between groups. For example, having seen the nature of activities taking place here, the North Wales Carers Trust now bring in the Boccia Group leader to run sessions for people with dementia. Moreover, Grace Church and Gwreiddiau have joined together to offer a Stay-and-Play group, Hadau Bach, which meets on a Thursday morning, and Behaviour Bridge, working with Stand, ran a series of sessions to offer support to families of persons with learning difficulties. This is exactly how we would want to see the Canolfan Eirianfa developing and we are delighted to see this happening.
The Community Fridge continues to thrive and regularly has 50-60 visitors per session. The timing of the Monday sessions have been altered to allow the volunteers to take delivery of products provided by Fare Share, a national initiative currently funded locally through DCC. This has added to the range of products that can be distributed to Fridge visitors and has proved very popular.
I thank you all for the warm welcome that has been extended to me since my arrival. It has been a pleasure to meet you all over the past year and I look forward to continuing to work with you to ensure the ongoing success of the Centre.

USE OF THE CENTRE BY VOLUNTARY AND COMMUNITY GROUPS
The Canolfan Eirianfa Centre continues to draw in a wide variety of groups which cater to the needs and interests of our local population, and we are proud to host over 20 regular groups, which include:

Addysg Oedolion, Baby Massage, Boccia exercise group, Cariad Crafts, Clwyd Quilters, Denbigh Art Group, Denbigh Church Ladies Guild, Denbigh Community Choir, , Denbigh Male Voice Choir, Denbigh & Ruthin Mencap, Gateway Club, Grace Church, Grace Church Ladies Fellowship, Gwreiddiau, Hadau Bach, Knit & Natter, Merched Y Wawr, North Wales Cottage Garden Society, SHINE theatre group, Slimming World, STAND North Wales, Versus Arthritis, and Y Bont.
We are always pleased to welcome additional bookings from organisations keen to engage with the local community, for example Denbighshire County Council departments, Denbigh CAB, Denbighshire WI and Denbighshire Local History Society who also meet at our premises. The Centre continues to host the COVID vaccination team and Welsh Blood Service for their outreach activities in the area. Our central location and proximity to ample parking makes our Centre an ideal location or them to work from.
Weekends are equally busy with Coffee Mornings organised by local charities taking place on most Saturday mornings and Grace Church and Gwreiddiau both holding Sunday services

We are also host to a number of groups who rent office and activity spaces on a monthly basis. They complement and enhance the activities at the Canolfan Eirianfa Centre and we are delighted that they continue to bring their expertise and enthusiasm to the community. They are:
North Wales Slot Car Club – utilises the space in the old garage area in the basement to provide a slot car racing club for the local community.
Age Connect – continues to expand its services and now uses the larger downstairs office space. It provides support for elderly isolated and vulnerable people in the community .
Adintra Counselling Services – uses an upstairs office to provide counselling services .
Grace Church – uses the small upstairs office to provide a base for the pastor of Grace Church.
North Wales Carers Trust – uses the large office on the ground floor and MR2 and provides help and advice to carers of those living with dementia. They continue to expand the range of activities they offer to persons with dementia which allows their carers some temporary respite.

Respective The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s responsibilities of trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the trustees and examiner Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:

examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,

to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the

Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and

to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
