## **Objectives and activities, achievements and performance**
The object of the Friends of St Mary's Church Bepton Trust (the Trust) is
“The preservation and conservation of St Mary’s Church, Bepton, for the public benefit by providing support to maintaining, preserving and improving the historic church building, its contents and grounds.”
The main activities undertaken by the Trust in relation to its object in the year ended 20 March 2025 included
- Establishment of the Trust
- Direct fund raising, by seeking donations, grants and a fund raising event, with receipts of £9,418
- Indirectly seeking and enabling grants paid direct to Bepton St Marys PCC
The activities of the Trust have benefitted the preservation and conservation of St Mary’s Church, Bepton, in particular contributing to and enabling the start of the major works at preservation and conservation of St Mary’s Church, Bepton in September 2025
## **Financial Review**
In the year ended 20 March 2025 the Trust -
received £9,418, of which £7,694 was from donations, £1,000 from grants and £724 from a fund raising event
Paid £3,540, of which £682 was donated to Bepton St Marys PCC, £2,747 was spent on direct fund raising and indirectly seeking and enabling grants paid direct to Bepton St Marys PCC, and £111 on event costs
The Trustees consider the net receipts of £5,878 satisfactory and will employ the funds to further the Trust's objective in the future
## **Structure, governance and management**
The Trust is governed by both the March 2024 Trust deed and the 25 June 2024 Charitable Incorporated Organisation constitution

New Charity Trustees shall be recruited and appointed by the Leadership Team: Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and at least two Trustees. The Leadership Team will review roles and responsibilities on an annual basis, giving the opportunity for members of the Leadership Team to step down or request changes
Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.
In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the Charitable Incorporated Organisation
