A copy of the Constitution may be obtained by application to the Trustees. Recruitment and appointment of new Trustees.. The Trustees, policy on the appointment of new Truste8S is to execute the procedure and standards set out in the CIO'S Constitution. Safeguarding and Risk management.. The Trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the Charity is exposed, and to ensure appropriate ntrOl$ are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error. The Trustees have put in pla robust procedures to manage its ass8ts, control the CIO'S finances and protect the CIO from the key risks to its effectsve and efficient operation which th8y have identtfied as reputational and financial. Managing Conflicts of Interest: Th8 Trustees, policy on managing conflicts of inter8St and conflicts of loyalty is to follow the procedure set out in the CIO'S Constitution. Objects The objects of the CIO are.. 1 . To preserve for the benefit of the people of Barton upon Humber, in North Lincolnshire and the nation at large whatever of the historical. architectural, constructional and natural or scientific heritage may exist in or near to that area (in the fom of buildings of particular beauty or historical. architectural or constructional interest or ancient monuments and othemise as shall be consistent with these objects). 2. To advance the education of the public in the said heritage and to undertake such oth8r charitable activiti88 as may benefit the people of or visitors to the said area. Achievements and Performance Charitable activities..
The Barton Heritage Trust has been crealed in order to hold and maintain various historic properties which have been donated to it. and to use the income from letting out th88e properti8s (tog8th8r with any funds donated to the trust). for grants to be given by the Trust for charitable projects and activities und8rtaken for the benefit of the heritage of Barton upon Humber. The grants will be mainly directed to local organisations and will be Specifically for charitable purpos8s which support the pr88ervation of heritage buildings or sites in Barton upon Humber. including heritage-associated educational and community projects which would bring tangible heritage benefits to the people of Barton and visitors to the Town. The Trust is at present in the process of acquiring, through donation, several historic properties in Barton upon Humber, and income from these lettings is expected to be the main source of income for the Trust for the foreseeable future. The Charity is pursuing, through several organisations, the opening of a Bank Account. The CIO is inv8Stigating the appointment of an Agent to manage all the properties on their transfer to the Trust. Future Developments Completing the transfer of properties to the Trust.
