Structure, Governance and Management
Cat Lady TNR is a volunteer led cat welfare charity established to reduce the number of feral and stray cat population through humane Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR), alongside rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming where appropriate.
The charity is governed by its trustees, who are responsible for strategy, compliance, and financial oversight. Trustees meet regularly, and decisions are made collectively. No trustee received remuneration during the year.
Day-to-day operations are carried out by volunteers.
Objectives and Activities
Our charitable objectives are:

To reduce and control the feral and stray cat population in Thurrock, Essex and surrounding areas by means of neutering to prevent further breeding

To aim to neuter the existing feral and stray cat population in and around Thurrock and surrounding areas

To promote the neutering of cats, both owned and stray, by highlighting the importance and health and welfare benefits

To rescue identified stray and feral cats and rehabilitate them where appropriate to ensure suitable homes can be found
-
To assist members of the public with neutering their own cats or local stray cats
-
To offer advice on caring for feral and stray cats, including guidance on appropriate shelter and housing
-
To scan stray cats for microchips and reunite them with owners or, where no microchip is found, make reasonable efforts to trace owners
Activities undertaken during the year:

Neutering feral and stray cats within identified colonies

Trapping, neutering, vaccinating, and returning feral cats to safe locations
-
Providing medical treatment to injured or unwell feral/stray cats
-
Supporting members of the public with affordable neutering for owned and stray cats

Rescuing and rehabilitating social cats and kittens for rehoming

Supporting local feeders and carers
-
Scanning stray, lost cats and reuniting with owners if microchipped
Achievements and Performance
During the year, Cat Lady TNR achieved the following:

115 cats through the doors

64 females / 51 males

17 feral / 98 friendly

36 neutered for owners

110 neutered

110 cats received veterinary treatment/intervention in the form of treatment for fleas, medical issues, spay/castrate

2 feral colonies supported
These activities directly reduced future kitten births and significantly improved the quality of life for cats within our operating area. Demand for our services continued to increase, reflecting the ongoing need for TNR / rescue work.

Plans for the Future
In the coming year, Cat Lady TNR plans to:

Public Benefit Statement
The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty under section 4 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to public benefit. The charity’s activities clearly benefit the public by improving animal welfare, reducing stray cat populations, and preventing suffering.
