Governance and Managernenl Southwarl< Senior Social Association is a charitable incorporated organisation {ClO) registered on 28 June 2024 and govemed by its constttution. Charitable Objectives The object of the charity is the relief of povety for elderly people aged 60 or over, who are in need due to age, poor health, disability, infinnity, social association, loneliness, povety or financial hardship within Southwark and the surrounding area, by providing health and social care support. specialist advice, health education or equipment and leisure and social activities. Payments to Trustees None of the Trustees received remuneration or other benefrt from their work with the cio. Membership The Association wish to encourage more of the local communrty to join SOUTHWARK SENIOFI SOCIAL ASSOCIATION as members. volunteers and funders. etc. Risk Management The trustees will adopt a risk management strategy vthich comprises of an annual review of the principal risks and uncertainties highlighted by our Sustainability Plan. Policies. systems and procedures are established to mitigate risks that may be highlighted in the review and procedures are implemented which are designed to minimise or manage any potential impact on Umma Salama Foundation.
SOUTHWAK SENIOR SOCIAL ASSOCIATION STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024 The Trustees are required to prepare tinancial slatements which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the project and of the income and expenditure of the project for that period. In preparing these financial statements. Ihe management committee are required to.. select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently; observe the methods and principles in the Charrties SORP. make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent., state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements., prepare the financial statements on the going cOnM basis unless it is inappropriate to presurne that the charity continue in operation. The Truslees are responsible for keeping proper records which disclose at any time the financial position of the project. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the organisation and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregulartties.
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF SOUTHWARK SENIOR SOCIAL ASSOCIATION ON THE ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024 WHICH ARE SET OUT ON PAGES 7-8. Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner The charity's Iruslees are responsible for the preparation of the accounls. The charity's truslees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 14412) of the Charilies Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to.. examine Ihe accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act., to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145{5)(b) of the 2011 Act. and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's report My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charty and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual ttems or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees conceming any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view, and the report Is limrted to those matters set out in Ihe slatement below. Independent examiner's report In connection wrth my examination, no matter has come to my attention.. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect: The accounting records were not kept in accordance with the section 130 of the Charities Act,. or The accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or The accounts did not comply wtth the applicable requirements conceming the form and content of the accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the account give a 'true and fairf which is not a matter a matter considered as part of the independent examination. ACCOUNTING POLICIES Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements The financial statements are prepared under the historic cost convention and include the results of the charity's operations which are described in the Management Committee's Report and all of vthich are Continuing. The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Statements of Recommended Practice for charrty accounts. The charity has taken advantage of the exemption of Financial Reporting Standard No 1 from the requirements to produce a cash flow statement on the grounds that it qualifies as a small charJty 1.2 Incoming Resources 1.2.1 Revenue grants are credited to the Statement of Financial Activities on the earlier date of when they are received or when they are receivable, unless they relate to a specific future penod, in which case they are included on the Balance Sheet as deferred income to be recognised in the future accounting period. 1.2.2 Grants received for specific purposes are accounted for as restricted funds in the Statement of Financial Activrties. 1.3 Restricled Funds Restricted funds are to be used for specrfic purposes as laid down by the donor. Expenditure which meets these crtteria is identrfied to the fund, together with a fair allocation of management and support costs. Unrestricted Funds Unrestricted funds are donations and olher incomes received or generated for the objects of the organisation without further specrfied pUoSe and are available for general funds. 1.5 Designated Funds Designated funds are unrestricted funds earmarked by the Management Committee for particular puSes. 1.6 Tangible Fixed Assets All expenditure that related lo equipment has been charged to the Statement of Financial Activities in the year of acquisrtion. A register of assets is maintained.
