During the reporting period, the trustees have worked to further these objectives by supporting individuals and communities through educational and training opportunities, helping people to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence, and by providing or facilitating practical support to those experiencing financial hardship or disadvantage. The charity seeks to promote opportunity, improve wellbeing and enable beneficiaries to become more independent and better equipped to participate positively in their communities. ## **Significant Activities** ## **Introduction** The Trustees of Al Ihsaan Education Trust are pleased to present this report on the activities and expenditures undertaken in support of Al Ihsaan Academy, Barlekha, Moulvibazar, Bangladesh, during the past financial year. The Trust has continued to rely entirely on the generosity of friends and family members residing in the United Kingdom. Their contributions have been vital in sustaining the Academy, where our shared vision is to provide underprivileged children with access to free education, food, accommodation, and opportunities for skills development. ## **Educational Provision:** • 150 full-time students received free education throughout the year, covering core academic subjects, Islamic education, and supplementary skills development. - 35 children were provided with daily food, accommodation, clothing, and essential teaching and learning materials, ensuring their holistic welfare and participation in education. - Eight qualified teachers and one caretaker were employed, providing structured teaching, pastoral care, and maintenance of the facilities. - Two boarding supervisors received free food and accommodation while overseeing the welfare, discipline, and daily routines of boarding students. This structured educational and residential support has created a secure and nurturing environment where children can thrive academically and personally. ## **Skill Development and Vocational Training:** To enhance self-sufficiency and employment opportunities, the Academy invested in vocational and technical resources: - 15 computers were purchased to support IT education and digital literacy. - 15 sewing machines were acquired to promote tailoring and garment-making skills. • Initial steps were taken to establish technical training programmes in electrical works, including installation of fans, generators, solar panels, and air conditioning systems. However, the Trust acknowledges that significant financial resources are required to secure qualified engineers and provide certified training to students. ## **Fishery Farm Initiative:** In line with our long-term strategy to make the Academy more sustainable, the Trust invested 50,000 Takas in a Fishery Farm Project. The initiative has been highly successful, generating an approximate profit of 150,000 Takas. This demonstrates the potential for future investment in self-sustaining projects to reduce reliance on donor contributions. ## **Infrastructure Development:** A key milestone this year was the continuation of the Building Project. - A three-floor extension was completed on the eastern side of the Academy, enabling the creation of six additional classrooms. - Despite this expansion, demand continues to grow, and currently, over 50 students remain on the waiting list, unable to gain admission due to financial and space limitations. ## **Welfare and Emergency Support:** The Academy faced several welfare-related challenges during the year: - During a period of extreme cold weather, the Trust purchased 30 additional blankets to ensure the health and comfort of students. • One student fell severely ill, requiring emergency medical treatment. The Trust had to hire a private ambulance and admit the student to a private clinic, costing the organisation 35,000 Takas. This unforeseen expense placed additional pressure on already limited resources. ## **Financial Challenges:** While the Academy continues to achieve remarkable progress, financial limitations remain a significant challenge: - Rising costs have forced the Academy to suspend the provision of free food and accommodation for new students, limiting its ability to extend support to additional children. ...CONTINUED Page 2 ## **Al Ihsaan Education Trust Trustees' Report (continued) For The Year Ended 31 March 2026** ## **Significant Activities - continued** • The expansion of vocational and technical training programmes requires large sums of investment, particularly to engage certified professionals and purchase advanced training equipment. ## **Conclusion and Appeal:** The Trustees of Al Ihsaan Education Trust are committed to continuing their support for Al Ihsaan Academy and to expanding its services where possible. The past year has seen notable successes in education, infrastructure, and income generation. However, increasing demand, welfare needs, and the ambition to provide vocational training underscore the need for continued and expanded financial support. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all donors, particularly those in the UK, whose generosity has been the backbone of this project. With sustained and increased contributions, the Academy will be able to: - Admit the 50+ students currently on the waiting list, - Reinstate and expand food and accommodation provision, - Scale up vocational training with qualified professionals, - Further invest in sustainable projects such as agriculture and fisheries, - And continue to safeguard the health, wellbeing, and future of its students. The trustees' report was approved by the board of trustees and signed on its behalf by: Mohammed Muzibur Rahman Trustee 24/08/2026 Page 3 ## **Al Ihsaan Education Trust Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Al Ihsaan Education Trust For The Year Ended 31 March 2026** I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Al Ihsaan Education Trust (the Trust) for the year ended 31 March 2026. ## **Responsibilities and Basis of Report** As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent Examiner's Statement** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or 3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and contents of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view' which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. The principal address is 147 Eastern Avenue, Ilford, IG4 5AW. ## 2. **Accounting Policies** ## 2.1. **Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements** The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) "Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)", Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Charities Act 2011. The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102. ## 2.2. **Incoming Resources** All incoming resources are receognised once the chairty has entitlement to the resoucre, it is certain that the resources will be received an the monetary value of incoming resoucres can be measured with sufficient reliability. ## 2.3. **Cash and Cash Equivalents** Cash and cash equivalents are basic financial assets and include cash in hand and deposits held at call with banks, other short-term highly liquid investments that mature in no more than three months from the date of acquisition and are readily convertible to a known amount of cash with insignificant risk of change in value, and bank overdrafts. ## 3. **Income from Donations and Legacies** |.
