Para 1.20 | Held 2 major festivals, one in South Bristol over several days & venues, the other in the M shed (Bristol Museums) & other venues over 2 days. Featuring 20 +talks, panel discussions, history walks, exhibitions, bookstalls, a live choir,& film screenings. Providing speakers to local organisations, contributing to events & conferences held by other historical associations, such as Our Chartist Heritage in Newport South Wales. Conducting historical walks around Bristol. Publishing 8 new original works on Bristol orientated historical topics, (total publications now exceed 60). Carrying out extensive research particularly relating to the history of workhouses of interest to family historians tracing their ancestors. All our work is carried out by unpaid volunteers & apart from our publications & some film presentations is provided free to our beneficiaries, the general public with no restrictions. |
