I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Mercy Oceans for the period 24 June 2024 to 31 March 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND BASIS OF REPORT

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011.

It is my responsibility to examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

This report is made solely to the charity’s trustees, as a body, in accordance with section 145 of the Charities Act 2011. My work has been undertaken so that I might state to the charity’s trustees those matters I am required to state in an Independent Examiner’s Report and for no other purpose.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S STATEMENT

My examination was carried out in accordance with the Charity Commission’s guidance on independent examination.

An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees where necessary.

MATTERS TO WHICH ATTENTION IS DRAWN

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect:

  2. proper accounting records have not been kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act 2011; or

  3. the accounts do not accord with the accounting records; or

  4. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

CONCLUSION

Based on my examination, I confirm that the accounts for the period 24 June 2024 to 31 March 2025 appear to have been prepared in accordance with the applicable requirements of the Charities Act 2011.
