# **Tracks Through Pastures CIO Registered charity No. 1208697** **Report & Financial Statements For the period 18[th] June 2024 to 1[st] May 2025** **Tracks Through Pastures CIO For the year ended 1[st] May 2025 Trustees Report** ## **TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT** The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 17(5) of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the commission. The Trustees present their report and the financial statements for the period ending 1 May 2025. The Board of Trustees is satisfied with the performance of the charity during the year and the position at 1 May 2025 and consider that the charity is in a strong position to continue its activities during the coming year, and that the charity's assets are adequate to fulfil its obligations. ## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES:** The objects are for the public benefit of children, young people, and adults’ facing social, emotional and mental health challenges, to preserve and protect their physical and mental health by providing innovative and impactful programmes that utilise the positive power of human-animal interaction. Nothing in this constitution shall authorise and application of the property of The Tracks CIO for the purposes which are not charitable. Activities are working alongside a CIC Kingswood Shetlands & Friends supporting people with sessions in Animal interactions in Nature. We have been running funded groups for vulnerable young people supporting their mental health. Working towards Ofcal Qualifications to provide both equal access to education, and as a form of early intervention for those with additional needs. We have also been working with families navigating challenges that impact mental health and relationships. All trustees have read and acknowledged the statement with regard to our guidance on delivery of services for the public benefit. These are also discussed and updated on board meetings. ## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE:** Establishing weekly groups for vulnerable young people, which has provided access to green spaces, nature and learning. It has improved mental health and provided beneficiaries with social networks and improved confidence. This intervention, particularly for children that are out of education, provides a potential pathway towards their future employability. Many of our young beneficiaries will attain a recognised qualification, these enable further learning and ultimately improved prospects of access to the workplace. This work is also connecting isolated young people with one another, providing valuable relationship and communication skills and improving their ability to socialize and work with and alongside others. Supporting volunteers from the community, all have said that it has been of great benefit to their mental health to spend time volunteering with us and alongside each other. We believe that society benefits when communities are connected, volunteering is not only beneficial to the individual’s sense of achievement but; contributing to a charitable cause enables people to feel part of their community. Community values contribute to positive societal change as we bring people from a broad demographic together, in shared purpose. The charity has also been able to support a number of families with access to nature and animal interactions, this has provided a valuable respite for beneficiaries with significant challenges in their family lives. Time shared in nature caring for animals, is an opportunity to re-connect, families under pressure have been able to step away from the demands of everyday life and enjoy some time together engaged in healthy activities. Supporting families in this way is of benefit to society, it helps them to meet others also facing challenges, it also shows them what a difference some time in nature can make to the whole family. - 2 - **Tracks Through Pastures CIO For the year ended 1[st] May 2025 Trustees Report** ## **FINACIAL REVIEW:** The charity received unrestricted income £25,701 of which £8,075 has been designated for a project called Waggy Tails, dedicated to adult sessions. Total expenses were £3,826, and the net surplus for the period was £21,875. At 1 May 2025, the charity had net assets of £21,875 represented by Unrestricted Reserves. The reserves policy is to hold sufficient funds to be able to fulfil contracts in place and to provide services for six months forward on an ongoing basis. Total reserves at 1 May 2025 were £21,875, of which £8,075 is designated for Adult Sessions. There are no uncertainties about the charity continuing as a going concern for the foreseeable future. ## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT** The Charity is governed by a Governing Document and Constitution updated in February 2025. The organisation is registered with the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. To appointment a Trustee, an applicant must complete an application which is shared with all the Trustees, an interview will take place with a majority of the Trustees being present, additional questions may take place before a vote takes place.
