THE RELIEF OF NEED BY REASON OF AGE, ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR OTHER SOCIAL OR ECONOMIC DISADVANTAGE OF CURRENT AND FORMER SERVING MEMBERS OF THE COMMANDO UNITS OF THE ARMED FORCES, THEIR FAMILIES AND DEPENDENTS BY PROVIDING GRANT FUNDING.3. THE COMMEMORATION AND REMEMBRANCE OF THOSE MEMBERS OF THE COMMANDO UNITS OF THE ARMED FORCES WHO LOST THEIR LIVES OR SUFFERED INJURY OR PUT THEMSELVES AT RISK OF LOSS OF LIFE OR INJURY IN SERVICES OF THE CROWN AND TO ENCOURAGE PUBLIC RECOGNITION OF THEIR SERVICE AND SACRIFICE.
