ANNUAL REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES OF THE VERWOOD MUSEUM TRUST

FOR THE PERIOD 16th JUNE 2025 TO 31st AUGUST 2025
This is the report of the Trustees of The Verwood Museum Trust for the period 16th June 2025 to 31st August 2025.
The Trust was established and first registered in June 2025 as a Community Interest Company in succession to it's predecessor charity Verwood Museum Trust ( a charity registered with number 1067952).
Verwood Museum Trust had been founded as a charity by means of a Trust Deed in 1997. Advice from a number of sources, including formal legal advice, indicated that the trust format was now considered outdated and may hinder the running and management of the charity, in particular, the ability to access grant funding. It was suggested that a CIC should be set up to replace the Trust and the assets of the Trust transferred to the CIC once registered.
In consequence The Verwood Museum Trust was duly created as a CIC and registered on 16th June 2025. Since the accounting year of the existing Verwood Museum Trust runs from 1st September to 31st August, it was resolved to continue running Verwood Museum Trust to it's normal year end and produce and file a full set of accounts for that period
The accounts of Verwood Museum Trust to 31st August 2025 have now been produced and filed with the Charity Commission.
All assets of Verwood Museum Trust were transferred to The Verwood Museum Trust on or about 1st September 2026
Verwood Museum Trust will now be closed and removed from the register of charities in due course.
Accounts for The Verwood Museum Trust for the period 1st September 2025 to 31st August 2026 will be prepared and filed at the appropriate time.
Since The Verwood Museum Trust neither engaged in any trading nor held any assets in the period to 31st August 2025, no formal accounts for that period have been prepared. The charity was, in effect, dormant, awaiting the transfer of assets on 1st September 2025 and there is thus nothing further to report for that period.
