benefit the community. Members of the church are
encouraged to persevere and grow in their faith, receiving
pastoral care, teaching and opportunities to serve the
fellowship and the community
We seek to foster a sense of community, fellowship and
belonging to part of God’s family and this has been
enhanced by affording more opportunities to meet in-
person together, including ‘Men’s Equip’. and ‘Women’s
Equip’ fellowship groups and bi-monthly lunches held after
the Sunday morning service .
Our outreach to the community continued through ‘Jelly
Tots’ ourpopularparents and toddlersgroup,‘Kids Zone’
after-school club and walk-in Coffee Mornings in the
Community Hall and holding services in various Residential
Care homes in the area

whole.		 Para 1.20 As a church, we had been praying that the Lord would bring
newcomers into our midst. Through the church year we have
seen God graciously answering our prayers with the
appearance of new faces in church on a Sunday morning
became a regular occurrence. Banstead Community Church
has a reputation for being a welcoming church and some
visitors have become a regular part of our congregation, whilst
others have gone on to become church members.
We value the good relationship we have built up with the
Community Junior School whose premises we use for Sunday
services and some other meetings. The school welcomes our
Pastor’s regular participation in morning assemblies, by video,
our annual provision of ‘It’s Your Move’ booklets to school
leavers to aid their transition to senior school and the
church’s help in running the cake stall at their annual fete. The
Pastor has also been invited to take Harvest Thanksgiving

service in Banstead Infants School. Our long-established Holiday Bible Club at the school during February half-term with demand for places undiminished and booking essential to keep numbers manageable. At the other end of the age scale, our work of ministering to residents of local care homes, holding in-person services in several of them. Our Christmas programme included a group of church folk venturing out onto the streets to sing carols and handout invitations to local residents to attend our Christmas services. As in the previous year , we held our traditional Carol Service on a Sunday morning attracting a larger gathering and more visitors than the evening service in pre pandemic years We contribute to wider gospel work in the UK through our membership of FIEC. We also encourage interest in and support for other Christian organisations who seek to advance the Christian faith or undertake charitable works in the UK or overseas. During the year, our partnership with New Life Church in a socially deprived part of Middlesbrough flourished with contacts between the two churches. increasing and joint prayer meetings being held monthly via Zoom . This partnership has extended with the addition of Spen Valley, Church The Trustees met formally12 times during the year to discuss church business . In addition 8 No Elders meetings were held to review members pastoral needs The Elders, maintained a faithful watch over the church by meeting regularly to exercise spiritual oversight of the church, praying for members and ensuring pastoral needs were met. As Trustees of the charity, they also discussed and directed the affairs of the church, both spiritually and temporal. They kept the church members fully informed of plans , decisions and other matters relating to church life by regularly sharing information at Thursday evening prayer meetings as well as at the Church Members meetings and Annual General meeting [the Church members meeting and AGM were also live streamed to enable those unable to attend in person to participate and included presentations regarding the church finances. Numbers attending Sunday services have started to recover following the decline during the pandemic with the average numbers attending both Morning and Evening Services in person, just below the pre-pandemic level, In addition, both services continue to be ‘live’steamed which enables those who are unable to attend to join in. During the year 2 persons professed faith in Jesus Christ and were baptised. In addition 2 persons were admitted into membership, overall offsetting those who had left through deaths or moving away from Banstead. Church membership at the year’s end stood at 56.

During the year, following registration of the charity, as a Charitable Organization, the Trustees have been, with legal support provided by Edward Connors solicitors , recommended by the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches [FIEC] to which Banstead Community Church is affiliates, progressing the transfer of the Assets from the original CUA charity [1110667] to the new CIO charity [1208604]. This was concluded on 31[st] March 2025 The Trustees give thanks to God for sustaining the church through the past year, and to all church members who continue to support the work of Banstead Community Church through prayer, giving and service. We continue to be encourage by recent signs of growth and look forward with confidence to the coming year

The church’s Governing Document is its constitution and handbook adopted on 5[th] May 2024

The trustees of the church are the Elders and non-Elder trustee who are appointed from the membership of the church and elected by fellow church members.

The appointment of a Pastor shall be reviewed by the trustees at least once every five years. Elders shall serve for a term of three years but may be re-appointed for further terms.

The trustees are required to meet a minimum of six times during the year.

The trustees have a responsibility for overseeing, facilitating, encouraging, directing and restraining all the activities of the church (both practical and spiritual) and in all things, seek to imitate the example of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The trustees have the power to appoint a Treasurer and a Secretary and other leaders from amongst the Membership.
