**Dalton Community Church** Charity No 1208602 Address: Market Street, Dalton-in-Furness, LA15 8RQ Trustees Annual Report for 1[st] September 2024 to 31 August 2025

Dalton Community Church is a charity with the following purpose:

To advance the Christian faith in the area where we are situated in accordance with the principles and practices of the participating churches – these being the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church.

We aim to do this by:

- a) the celebration of public worship

b) the teaching of the Christian faith

- c) mission and evangelism

d) pastoral work including visiting the sick and bereaved

e) the provision of facilities with a Christian ethos for the local community, including the elderly, the young and other groups with special needs.

f) the support of other charities in the UK and overseas.

This report describes how the Church has met these charitable aims in the period September 2024 to August 2025 (our financial year). We have:

- Held worship services weekly on Sunday mornings, monthly on Tuesday afternoons and extra services during the Christmas and Easter periods.

- Held 8 trustee meetings and 4 congregational meetings (one of which was an Annual General Meeting) in accordance with our constitution.

- Held free weekly afternoon drop-in sessions as a “Warm Hub”, providing a warm environment, hot drinks and soup, and a chance to chat, do crafts, play board and table games, complete jigsaws, etc.

- Held fortnightly meetings with speakers on a variety of mainly Christian topics.

- Held 8 “Messy Church” sessions and 4 “Eco-Warriors” sessions where children aged up to 11 years and their parents and carers have learnt about the Christian faith and caring for our planet through crafts, games, singing and stories.

- Hired the church premises out to organisations and individuals for coffee mornings, children’s parties, ante-natal classes, plus meetings of Furness Stroke Support Group, Dropzone Youth Group and Askam Local History Group. All hiring purposes have been vetted and agreed by the Trustees.

- Hosted community meals, concerts, a garden party, a local history exhibition and other social events.

- Undertaken activities to raise money for other charities including the Furness Homeless Support Centre and Breast Cancer Now!.

Our Minister and other Trustees kept in touch with any sick or bereaved members and friends through phone calls, social media, visits and Christmas cards.
