So far we hove delivered Reality Check to young people in smoll groups in north London youth centres including Rose Bowl, Prospex. The Thanet ond various community centres. rr We aim to realise the potential in young people through Science. Technology, Engineering Art and Maths so they can be the best they can and be prepared for the lives they cannot foresee. Everything we have learned from these pilot sessions we used to improve and streamline our VR experience for staff and users. We sourced new headsets so that we can deliver to lorger groups. We purchased new Peli cases to transport them safely and ensure that they are secure and always fully charged and ready for use when moving between venues. We installed ArborXR, software that can be used to update all headsets simultaneously and controlled from a single laptop, on all our VR headsets. This has dramaticolly reduced the amount of time dedicated to updating and synching headsets and also set up time and technical complications at delivery venues. ArborXR allows us to dedicate the headsets to Reality Check, removing the possibility of users being distracted by other APPS during the sessions. ArborXR also allows us to trock decisions made by participants during the sessions to help us to understand the impact of Reality Check and how this varies according to age, gender ond other demographics. We would like to thank our funders including Clothworkers, The Progress Foundation. The Leothersellers ond Islington Council for their support which hos mode this possible. We have delivered several of our Cycle Science Lab programmes at Prospex youth centre this yeor. These 6-week programmes were well received and participants enjoyed learning about the forces at work when cycling. We explored the different breaking and gear systems. How to ensure a bike is safe to ride including running safety checks and undertaking regular maintenance. We covered the use of tools and looked at some of the forces they rely on= the use of tension, torsion and leverage to loosen and fasten the crews nuts, bolts and screws that hold the bike together, the importance of keeping the bike clean and lubricated. We also introduced them to road safety and every participant received a bicycle to ride away on at the end of the six weeks course. Go Full Steam is a a STEANA charity founded in 2024 to empower young people to engage in oll the elements of STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art ond Moths. Our creative problem-solving activities provide opportunities to gain the skills they need to moke meoningful, positive change in the world.
