The Charitable Trust's objective and principle actiwty is that of advancing such charitable purposes (according to the
law of England and Wales) as the ¢ws¢ees see fit. COnS￿eration given to all UK registered charities. There will be a
focus on supporting charities working in th8 areas of broadening access to good education. rehabilitating prisoners,
and a150 specific area5 of health such as myeloma, women's cancers, 8nd Ivng diseases.

Investment policy
The Truslees have wide inveslmenl powers. wlhoul restricljtsn. The present investrnent policy is to seek a long term
balance between capital preservation, on the one hand, and in¢omg rnaximisalion on the other. The Trusto8s want
the inv8strn8nts held by th8 charity lo gènerate sufficient Incomè to pay the 8xp8nsas each y88r.
The investment policy of the Foundation is on a low risk basis and the finances are monitored regularly by the
Trustees. The Trustees are Iherefore satisfied that they have tsken the necessary steps to rninimise the operational
risks ol the Foundation.

The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in
pla￿ to rnitigate exposu￿ lo the major risks. One risk lo the charity is that Ihe invesiments held do not generate
sufficienl ino)me. this is miligaled as shown in the investment pdicy above.

The charity 15 gov8rned by the Trustees. In 8ccord8fbce the Injsl deed there must b8 8t least two Trust88S,
every Trustee rnust be appointed for a t8rm ol three years by a re501ution of thè Trustees passed at 8 special
meeting as prescribed in clause 15 01 the deed.
In selecting individuals lor appointment as Trustees. the Truslees must have regard to the skills. knowledge and
experience needed lor the effective administration ol the charity.
Org8nisational structure
The chair, Mr N M Studer. has continued in Iheir this year frjllowng their appointment. No business shall be
conducted at the Trustee meetings unless at least one-third of the total number ol Trustees, or two Trustees, are
present at the meets'ngs. At Trustee meebngs decisions must be made by a majority rf the Trustees p￿sent and
voting on the question. The person chairing the meeting wll have Ihe castiThJ vote.

1.1 Reporting period
The charitable trust was founded 19 June 2023 and this set of financial slalements represents its first
financial ￿porting period of 21 months from Ihat dale to S April 2025. Since this is the first period there are no
corresponding amounts to repyt.

The financial slalemenls have b8•n pmpar8d in accordance Ihe charitable Irust's goveming dctument,
the Charities Act 2011. FRS 102 "The Financial Reporbng Standard applicable in the UK and Republic ol
Ireland. and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reports'ng by Charities.. Staternenl of Rec£Jmmended
Practice applicable to charibes preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic ol Ireland IFRS 1021".

The financial slalèmonts are prepared in sleding, which is the functional currenq ol thè charftablg trust.

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost o)nvention.rnodified to inCl￿e the
revaluation ol certain financial instrurnenls al fair v81ue. The principal accounting policies adopted are set out
below.
1.3 Golng conc•rn
At the time ol approving Ihe financial statements. the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the
charilable trust has adequale resources to conlinue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus
the trus¢ees conunue io adopt the going c¥NKem basis of ar4￿￿nting in preparing the financial statements.
1.4 Charblabl• funds
All funds 8r9 unrg$trict8(1 and hèld for tho 96nèr81 usè of Ihè Charit8blé Trust in 8ccord8ncè with its trust
deed.
1.5 Income
Income is recognised when Ihe charitable trust is legally enliued to it after any perf0mlan￿ conditions have
been met, the amounts can be measured ￿lia￿Y, and rt is probable ihat ino)me will be received.
Cash dtsnations are racognised on receipt. Ott)er donations aTe recognised once the charitable trust has been
notified of the ¢Jonatson, unless perfom)ance conditions requi￿ deferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable
in relation lo donations r￿1Ved under Gift Aid or deeds ol covenant is recognised al the time ol the donation.
Incom6 from invèstments is accounted for on a rèceivable basis.

1.6 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised On￿ there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benefit to a
third party. it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits ￿11 be required in setuernent. and the amount of
the obligation can be measured reliably. Al 8xpgnditure is 8¢counted for on an aocruals basis and is indusivg
of any VAT which cannot be rgCOVgr8d.
Support and govemance costs are those functions that assist the work ol the Charitable Trust but do not
directly undertake charitable activities. Govemance costs comprise all costs involving the public accountability
of the Charitable Tnjsl and its Complian￿ with regulaknn and g¢X￿ practice.
1.7 Flxèd assèt Inv•stmènts
Inve5trnenis are a form of basic financial instnjmenl and are inilially recognised al their transaction value and
subsequenuy measured at ¢heir fair value a5 at Ihe balance sheet date using the closing quoted market price.
The st8tem8nt of financial 8divities indudgs the net gains and k)$￿ 8rising gn r&valu8tion and disposals
throughout the year.
The charity does not acquir• put options, derivalNes or oiher complex financial instruments.
The main forrn of financial risk faced by the tharity is thal of volatility in equity markets and investrnenl
markets due ¢0 wider economic conditions. Ihe atD'tude of investors to inve5tmen¢ risk, and change5 in
Sentiment concerning equrti¢$ and within particular sedors or sub seclors.
