The board meets regularly to review activities, finances, safeguarding, and risk.

**Objectives and Public Benefit**

The charity’s objects are to support children and young people, particularly those with additional needs, vulnerabilities, or barriers to education, by advancing education, wellbeing, and personal development through nature-based, therapeutic, and alternative learning approaches. The trustees have paid due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and believe that the charity’s activities provide clear public benefit to children and young people who may otherwise struggle to access suitable education or support.

## **Activities and Achievements During the Year**

Friends of Liberty in the Wild Foundation focused on supporting alternative and therapeutic educational opportunities connected to Liberty in the Wild. Activities included:

- Supporting access to nature-based and outdoor learning

- Providing resources and enrichment opportunities

• Supporting young people who have experienced disengagement from mainstream education

The trustees are satisfied that these activities further the charity’s objects and deliver positive outcomes for beneficiaries.

## **Financial Review**

The charity received income during the year from donations and fundraising. No grants were received this year. Expenditure was incurred in furtherance of the charity’s aims. The trustees consider the charity’s financial position at year end to be appropriate for its size and level of activity.

## **Reserves Policy**

As a small charity, the trustees aim to maintain modest reserves sufficient to meet short-term commitments and ensure continuity of activities, while enabling funds to be applied directly to charitable purposes wherever possible.

## **Principal Risks and Uncertainties**

The trustees have identified the main risks facing the charity as:

- reliance on external funding

- increasing demand for services

- safeguarding and compliance responsibilities

These risks are mitigated through careful financial oversight, safeguarding policies, and regular trustee review.

## **Plans for the Future**

In the coming year, the trustees intend to:

- continue developing fundraising and grant applications

- expand the number of children and young people supported

- strengthen monitoring of outcomes and impact

- further embed good governance and safeguarding practice
