1. Objectives and Activities
Afghanistan Education Action is a UK-registered charity committed to advancing education across Afghanistan, particularly for girls and disadvantaged communities. The charity’s objects include improving access to quality education, supporting educational infrastructure, and enabling community-led development through learning.
The trustees have complied with their duty under section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
2. Achievements and Performance
During its first year (2024), the charity did not undertake any fundraising or charitable activities. Instead, it focused on essential preparatory work to become operational from April 2025. Activities undertaken during this foundation phase included:

Conducting needs assessments for education-related interventions in Afghanistan
No income was received and no expenditure was incurred during the year ended 31 December 2024.
3. Financial Review
The charity did not receive any income nor incur any expenditure in the period under review. Consequently, the financial statements present nil balances across all categories.
No assets or liabilities existed at the balance sheet date. The trustees are satisfied that the charity is in a stable position to commence fundraising and operational activities in 2025.
An independent examination or audit is not required as the charity’s income was below the statutory thresholds and there were no transactions.
4. Structure, Governance and Management
Afghanistan Education Action is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), governed by its Constitution dated 30[th] May 2024, and registered with the Charity Commission in 2024.
The board of trustees meet at regular intervals during the year to consider the status of the Foundation’s activities in furtherance of the charity’s objects. New trustees are appointed in accordance with the constitution and receive induction on their legal responsibilities and the charity's objectives.
