Trustees Annual Report for the period ending 31st March 2025

Background

Nottingham CityCare Community Charity (the charity) was registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with the Charity Commission on May 23, 2024. It operates under the terms of a constitution which is based on the charity commission’s ‘foundation’ model constitution.

establishment to 31[st] March 2025.

The charity was established with the support of Nottingham CityCare Partnership CIC (the CIC) and whilst the CIC is entitled to appoint two trustees, the charity operates entirely independently of it. All charity trustees must act in a way that best advances the CIO's purposes, regardless of CIC appointment.

Trustees in place during the reporting period

The following trustees were in place when the charity was registered and have remained in place throughout the reporting period.

Name CIC appointment (Y/N) Term
Louise Bainbridge Y 4 years
Nicola Bridge Y 3 years
Julia Sebelin N 2 years
Dawn Smith N 2 years
Lynn Jane Woods N 2 years

The charity’s constitution allows for a maximum of twelve trustees, and any further appointments will be made by the trustees. There is a commitment to ensure that where possible trustees will be appointed from the community that the charity serves.

Objectives

The purpose of the charity is to preserve and protect the health of the patient community in the area where the CIC operates by the provision of grant funding which assists in the provision of education, practical advice, facilities, support services and equipment not normally provided by the statutory authorities.

Main activities during the reporting period

Trustees have come together as a board on four occasions during the reporting period with the focus being on generating a business plan which would enable it to kick-start the allocation of grants which in turn would enable the charity to demonstrate public benefit and use this benefit as a mechanism to attract further funding.

Due to unforeseen diiculties in securing the anticipated funds to develop the business plan, this work did not come to fruition which is why there were no financial transactions in the accounting period.

Despite this set-back, positive progress has taken place with respect to developing a Memorandum of Understanding with the CIC that will enable it to support the charity through the provision of both administrative and financial support. This in turn will allow the charity to shift its activities from enablement to those which will have a direct impact on public benefit.
