## **TRUSTEE’S REPORT 2024/5.** The Yesterbus Classic Vehicle Preservation Group has completed it’s first year of activities and has performed better than anticipated in the first year, with a great deal of interest both from enthusiasts and the general public and in general has been very well received by similar groups from different area’s. ## • MANAGEMENT MEETINGS. The Trustee’s of the charity have held several meetings throughout the year where topics have been explored and some of these subjects have been to promote the activities of the group through open events and running events and also how to increase financial input into the charity. These meetings have been productive, and in accordance with out agreements with the charity commissioners these style meeting will continue in the coming years. ## • FINANCE. It was always assumed that as a start up charitable group in the current economic climate, finances would difficult in the first few years, and that has proved to be a correct assumption, however, the group has been very pleased at some very kind regular donations from people who have an interest in what we are doing and these coupled with a short term interest free loan from one of our Trustee’s has meant we have managed to complete our first year of preservation and promotion activities with a small surplus which we are delighted to be the case. ## • VOLUNEERS. The Charity has benefited that in our first year we have been able to attract a small team of volunteers who have been extremely active in the charity’s activities and events taking part in specialist maintenance of classic vehicles and also with the planning and running of open events and classic vehicle running events. - OUR EVENTS AND EDUCATIONAL VISITS. A key part of charitable groups like ours is to spread the word of our work through events and open days, events organised by ourselves at our base in Shildon, County Durham, and also by supporting other groups. We have made a good impact on this type of work through Open days and evenings, coupled with a short ride out on a classic vehicle used under the umbrella of Yesterbus Group or a visiting vehicle. There has been 8 open events in 2024/5 and these attracted good numbers from our local community some taking an interest to work being carried out at our base, others enjoying a ride on classic bus/coach. In addition to our open events, On 7[th] September 2024 we organised a vehicle running event in Bishop Auckland, County Durham which proved to be very popular with families, giving small children an opportunity to ride on a vehicle of a type that their grandparents or even great grand parents may have ridden on. ## • OTHER EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES In addition to activities organised to promote the charity and its aims we also supported events held by other charities and groups this was done with a double aim, firstly to promote the Yesterbus charity both locally and nationally (if possible) and also to support the organisers of other similar events Cont…………………… Page 1. ………………… Continued from page 1 The Group attended the following events during the 2024/5 season with a good number of Trustees, visitors and volunteers supporting our attendances. A full list of our attendances is detailed below: - Sunday 26[th] May 2024: Northern National Restoration Group Open Day at Philadelphia Depot, We used Leyland Leopard PPT446P for this event. - Tuesday 25[th] June 2024: evening tour on preserved OK Motor Services Leyland Tiger to Redcar and Saltburn. - Saturday 17[th] August 2024: Aycliffe Bus Museum, Running Day and Display. Being a local event, we were able to take several vehicles to support this event namely PFN858, LFT5X, PPT446P & JJD443D. There has already been a lot of feedback from visitors and other event organisers who are keen to invite the organisation to attend their events during the 2025/6 season with approaches from Sandtoft National trolley bus museum, and Beamish Museum. This report was presented to the General meeting of Trustees and volunteers and others on 9[th] December 2025 and was accepted as a true report of the Charities activities.
