## **Trustees’ Annual Report for the period ended 31 August 2025** 

Objectives and Activities 

The object of the CIO is to advance and promote religious, cultural, social and community activities for the benefit of the public and the Hindu community, particularly within North London and surrounding areas. 

Structure, Governance and Management 

The Brahmin Society North London CIO was registered with the Charity Commission during the financial period as part of the charity’s transition from its previous unincorporated association structure (Charity No. 287810) into a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). 

The charity is governed by its CIO constitution and managed by its Board of Trustees. 

Activities During the Period 

During the reporting period, the transfer of operational activities, assets and liabilities from the previous unincorporated association (Charity number: 287810) to the CIO had not yet completed. 

Accordingly: 

- The CIO did not undertake any operational activities during the period; 

- No assets had transferred into the CIO at the financial year end; 

- And the charity had no income or expenditure during the reporting period. 

Preparatory governance and transition work continued during the year in anticipation of the future transfer of operations and assets from Charity No. 287810 into the CIO structure.

## Financial Review 

The CIO recorded no operational income or expenditure during the financial period and held no assets or liabilities at the year end. 

Trustees’ Responsibilities 

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and financial statements in accordance with applicable law and Charity Commission guidance.

## 1. Basis of Preparation 

These accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and applicable Charity Commission guidance for small charities. 

## 2. Dormant / Transitional Status of the CIO 

The Brahmin Society North London CIO was established during the financial period as part of the charity’s transition from its previous unincorporated association structure (Charity No. 287810) into a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). 

As at 31 August 2025: 

* The transfer of operational activities, assets and liabilities from the unincorporated association (Charity No. 287810) had not yet completed; 

- No bank accounts had transferred into the CIO; 

- And the CIO had not commenced any operational activity. 

Accordingly, the CIO recorded no income, expenditure, assets or liabilities during the reporting period. 

The trustees continued preparatory governance and transition work during the year pending the formal migration of activities and assets into the CIO structure.
