May to 31 December 2024. We do noi have a membership m(MJel, but are rather based on a
commlttee of ttustees who are the decision n)akers. together with additional volunteers.

The Geopark was officially launched at the Mthiwl¢ Hotel. L￿a￿tr￿nd0￿ on 27 July 2024. 11

Musewn Wales). and Dr. Joe Botting (Cbair of the Geopark). Other events on the day were a
fossil haodlin8 se&sion at the Radnorshire Museun¥ and guid￿ walks of geological stt¢s in
Llandrindod.
Other Geopatk publi¢ events held in 2024 were a tslk about the Geopark in the Wyeside Centr¢,
Builth Wells, on 3 AugusL a f￿11 bandling session at th¢ Rthorsbire Museum on 16August"
and a fossil handling activity at Powys County Council's AutUmDAdv¢nEure Weekend at Elan
Valley Visitor Centre OD 27 (knob¢r. Two guided walks were held: one 8mund the LlandrÈndod
geology trail on 28 July. and one (with Julian Ravest) around Rhogo and C8stle Bank on 27
August. In totsl, more than 170 membeTS of the public attended geopth event5 in 2024, not
including visitors to the more general Elan Valley event at which we participated.

The Geopark produced 47)d printed I,O(M) copies of a fiTSt leafiet Tn 2024: 8 geology trnil around
Llandrindod. This leafiet was distributed to I￿al b￿SineSS 8Th1 OTEanisat¢on& and gtven to
TrisitOTS ￿ events. It is also available on the G¢opgrk website. along with More det2il¢d content
for those who wish to learn more.
Geopatk volunte¢TS also started working on their sit¢ wlservation tole on May 11 . 2024. by

information boards. Plans for higmigbting a network of public trails a￿ king develop
encouragtng locals and visitors to explore the area and its remthrkable geology. biodiversity and

The objectives in the yw were to establish ourselves &$ a charity and within the publi¢
consciousness, and begin to develop public engagement to fulfil ow PTimary goal of public
wlderstanding of geology aThl heritage. This has necessarily involved a focus on face-tO•face
events, as the F¢mianent and self-Ked resowces take longer to develop fully. As the g¢opaTk
develops. we will al￿ to have many more activitics available L8 ￿manentlY accessible
sources, rather than n¢ding to be led by members of the geow* in person.

local rommunity, businesses, and community and town council4 who all see the value in

In the coming year we aim to build on wbat we bave achieved so far. to ¢xpand the range of
events aod resources we can offer. 8Dd build up more and richer Tel￿10n$hips with local people.

Financial report
Our ￿Ounts in th¢ first year are relattvely straightforward. We received £788.50 in dOn￿lOnS,
and £357.00 in ￿ents inwne. while spending £253.68 overthe coutse ofthe year. The main
expenses have E¢en insurance 8J)d rr hosting. together ￿7th a rdnge of small costs that have
ellabled us to begin fulldroisin& promoting and advertising wbat we do.
We currendy have no debts.
We have a reserve polt¢y that at this stsge sets &8ide £250: this be reassessed
antkually. as our income and eX￿￿tidIt￿￿ in¢rease.
We do not have any fim(ts h¢ld &$ a ¢wtOd1￿ trustee.
Note that our total income is less than £25.000. and as such there is no neul for an ext¢rnal audit.
