Trustees Report

The Trustees submit their Report and the Accounts of the Trust for the period 15 May 2024 to 31 March 2025.

Trust Objectives and Activities

The object of the trust is to advance such charitable purposes (according to the law of England and Wales) as the trustees see fit from time to time.

The charity works with the staff of Cambridge Commodities Limited to raise money throughout the year by arranging fundraising events such as bake sales and sporting challenges.

Reserves policy

The charity's policy is to distribute all funds raised within the same financial year to its beneficiaries, in line with its charitable objectives. As such, the charity does not seek to build unrestricted reserves.

A minimal operational balance is maintained to meet immediate administrative obligations and to ensure the charity can meet any final costs in the event of wind-down. This policy is reviewed annually by the trustees to ensure it remains appropriate to the charity’s circumstances and financial activities.

Achievements and performance

During the period the charity made a donation of £73,226 to The Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.

Structure, governance and management

The charity was established and is governed by its constitution dated 25 July 2024.

The trustees who served during the Period were:

Mr J Stevens Mr I Mitchell Mr C Boughton

All trustees give their time voluntarily and receive no benefits from the charity.

No expenses were reclaimed from the charity.

In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees will have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the charity.

Notes to the Financial Statements

For the Period 15 May 2024 to 31 March 2025

1. Accounting Policies

(a) Basis of Preparation

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102). The Charity is a public benefit entity for the purposes of FRS 102 and has therefore also prepared its financial statements in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (The FRS 102 Charities SORP), published 16 July 2014, and the Charities Act 2011.

The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest pound.

The trustees have assessed whether the use of the going concern basis is appropriate and have considered possible events or conditions that might cast significant doubt on the ability of the charity to continue as a going concern. The trustees have made this assessment for a period of at least one year from the date of approval of the financial statements. Given that grant and donation expenditure is not approved until there is an equivalent amount of income, the trustees have concluded that there is a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. The charity therefore continues to adopt the going concern basis in preparing its financial statements.

Donations are recorded as income when received or, if not received, where there is evidence of entitlement, receipt is probable and the amount can be measured reliably. Where the Trust has received notification before the end of the financial year of amounts raised on its behalf through fundraising events, organised by third parties, this income is recognised in the financial statements. Interest income is recorded in the financial statement on a receivable basis as are all other tvpes of income.

(d) Charitable grants and donations

Charitable grants and donations are charged to expenditure when approved by the Trustees and communicated to the beneficiaries.

(g) Expenditure on raising funds

These are costs incurred in inducing others to make gifts to the Charity or for organising events.

(h) Expenditure on charitable activities

(j) Cash and cash equivalent

Financial assets classified as receivable within one year are not amortised

Charitable grants and donations during the year consisted of a single donation of £73,226 made to Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.
