Clwb Tywi Ffairfach Trustees’ Annual Report

Charity Number – 1208260

Trustees – Lucy Hofton (Chairman) Nerys Thomas (Treasurer) Amanda Owen (Secretary)

The Charity is run on a foundation model where the voting members are the charity trustees. Trustees may be appointed for an unlimited time and can appoint new trustees. We look to the parents/carers involved with the primary school we support to recruit for any new trustees, if required, but this is not a mandatory criteria. In relation to staff recruitment, this has been achieved by advertising via the primary school.

We hold regular fundraising events as opportunities to bring the school community together and to bolster finances.

The aim of Clwb Tywi is to provide quality, accessible, afterschool childcare from 3.30pm-5pm during term time (currently Mondays-Thursdays) that offers a range of play activities in a welcoming atmosphere. This, in turn, supports and allows parents/carers in the school’s community to meet their work/life demands and collect their children later than the 3.30pm school end time.

The club operates for boys and girls of Ysgol Ffairfach aged 3-12yrs.

We have had a successful first year in that we have provided afterschool provision for the school and the local community. The intention is not to make a profit but to assist the local community with a service. This allows parents and guardians to balance work and childcare.

We are not for profit and have no debt. Trustees are involved on a voluntary basis. Any income is spent on costings e.g. wages, insurance, tax, professional accountancy fees and consumables for afterschool activities. The fees paid by service users covers the financial liabilities but we also fundraise when needed to cover any anticipated shortfalls and to ensure the afterschool club can continue.
