Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.	Para 1.20	During the year, the charity successfully advanced its objectives through a range of activities, including a fundraising ball, summer rowing camps, national event welfare support and purchasing rowing equipment. As a result the coaching staff have been able to focus on coaching using updated equipment and the rowers have benefited from having that equipment and they also benefited from the welfare support as they were fed performance supporting nutrition and were provided with an area to interact as a team and recover between races.Feedback and outcomes indicate that the charity’s work has made a tangible difference to beneficiaries’ circumstances. In addition, the charity’s activities have contributed to wider benefits to society, such as promoting school community cohesion, reducing pressure on school resources, supporting long-term wellbeing.

Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period	Para 1.21	At the end of the reporting period, the charity remained in a stable financial position. Total income for the year amounted to £34189.00, with total expenditure of £20829.00, resulting in a surplus of £13360.00. The charity held net assets of £13360.00] at the year end. The trustees are satisfied that the charity has sufficient resources to meet its ongoing commitments and to continue its activities for the foreseeable future.”

While the financial position of the charity is positive there are some uncertainties, including recruiting new volunteers to promote the purposes of the charity as a result of the inevitable turnover of pupils through the school/rowing club. The trustees believe that appropriate steps are being taken to mitigate these uncertainties.
