The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2025.
OBJECTIVES
Combat Care was formed in May 2024. The charity was registered with The Charity Commission on 13 May 2024 and became operational in 2025.
Objectives
Care After Combat's charitable objectives are:
TO ACT AS A RESOURCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE UP TO THE AGE OF 24 LIVING IN THE U.K BY PROVIDING ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE AND ORGANISING PROGRAMMES OF PHYSICAL, EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER ACTIVITIES AS A MEANS OF: (A) ADVANCING IN LIFE AND HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE BY DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS INDEPENDENT, MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS; (B) ADVANCING EDUCATION; (C) RELIEVING UNEMPLOYMENT; (D) PROVIDING RECREATIONAL AND LEISURE TIME ACTIVITY IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR PEOPLE LIVING IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT WHO HAVE NEED BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABILITY, POVERTY OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES WITH A VIEW TO IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF SUCH PERSONS.
TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF EX-SERVICE PERSONS, VETERANS AND FAMILIES OF SERVICE PERSONS WHO REQUIRE EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL INCLUSION SUPPORT DUE THEIR TRANSITION FROM ACTIVE SERVICE TO CIVILIAN LIFE THROUGH THE PROVISION OF PEER SUPPORT, EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, KEY SKILLS PROGRAMMES, COUNSELLING AND A REFERRAL SERVICE TO AID SUCH PERSONS THROUGH THIS TRANSITION TO CIVILIAN LIFE.
Aims
Combat Care provides support to Veterans of the UK armed service, and our mission is to ensure that these Veterans receive the care, guidance and support they deserve to transition into civilian life, with specific services for those exiting under the age of 24.

Achievements and Performance
Over the last six months, we have relied on a small group of volunteers, professionals in their own field, to develop and pilot several services.
These services have enabled us to provide independent clinical assessments to determine the suitability of the Veteran for exempt housing and to integrate the needs of the Veteran into comprehensive and managed support plans.
On-going reviews and specialist services have been identified, sourced, or provided directly.
Two programmes have been finalised for use with our Veteran population, Preparation for Civilian Life (PCL) and Preparation for Adult Life (PAL). PCL will be piloted with the first Veteran Cohort in 2026.
Public benefit
We have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commissioner's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing our aims and objectives and in planning future activities, in particular the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives they have set.
Trustee Support
Combat Care has a board of 3 Trustees, who are volunteers. All out-of-pocket expenses can be claimed, although however to date none have been claimed.

FUTURE PLANS
The Trustees are looking to continue the progress of the charity in terms of increasing the outreach of the charity for the delivery of its objectives through managed growth and access of income streams.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document
The charity is controlled by its governing document, its Constitution, and in accordance with the governing document and Charity Commission guidance the trustees are responsible for the appointing of new trustees to the Board.
New trustees are appointed further to the recommendations from routine skills audits on the basis where they have the necessary skills to contribute to the charity's management and development.
Organisational structure
Currently there are no employees, the work to date has been provided by the volunteers, as such there is no formal organisation structure.
Induction and training of new trustees
Trustees' responsibilities are explained to them before they accept appointment and they are given a copy of the Charity Commission's "The essential trustee”.
Key management remuneration
This is not relevant at this stage
Risk management
The trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error. A live risk register is maintained by the Chair and is a standing agenda item at every trustee meeting.
