It should be read in conjunction with the accompanying independently examined financial statements of the charitsble incorporated o￿aniSation for the period ended 31 January 2025. A) The Church and its Governance Station Hill Baptist Church vtss formed in 1854 and has occupied the site ever slnce. As part of the process of becoming a charity in 21x19. the Church updated its governin8 document to conform to a standard approved governing document for Baptist Unlon of Great Britsin churches. The Charity is governed with due regard to the Charity Commission's guidan￿ on publlc benefit. Followlng a vote by Members at a Special Church Meetlng on 26 November 2023, The Church became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with all assets and liabilities and activltles of the charlty being legally transferred from l February 2025. A separate report has been prepared for the Charity reflecting the activities of the Church during the year to 31 January 2025. This charltable incorporated organisation has been dormant during this accounting perlod other than receivlng funds to allow its operatlon to commence from l February 2025. Objertives of the Church The principal purpose of the Church Is the advancement of the Christlan faith accordlng to the prlnclples of the Baptist denomination. Statlon Hill Baptlst Church has a vlsion to be the visible presence of Christ in Chlppenham and North Wiltshire, and together wlth other churche5 to be artive In soclety to mlnlster to the whole community. Church Meetlngs and Church Council The Church is governed and regulated by its own members who meet every two months in formal Church Meetings; thls Is the ultimate authority for decisions under God. The Church Council consists of a representatlon of members, appointed by the Church Meeting, who also meet bi-monthly lusually two weeks prior to church meetin8s1 to plan and carry out tssks relating to various aspects of the Ilfe and work of the church and taking decisions more involves with the day to day running of the church. Everyone has a part to play in the prevention of physical, sexual and emotlonal abuse of chiklren and young people, and a responsibility to ￿port any abuse discovered or susperted. SH8C follows the 'Safe to Gro￿ guldance whlch is published by the Baptist Union for implementing and adoptln8 safeguarding policies and procedures when working with children and young people. DBS Administrator: Simono Baker We undertake to exercise proper care in the selertion and appointment of those working with children and young people, whether in a paid role or as volunteers. Adults who work or volunteer with children at SHBC are required to undertake Level 2 Safeguarding training which is refreshed every 4 years. The Leadership Team (Minister. Elders. Designated and Deputy Person for Safeguarding} undertake Level 3 training which is also ￿freshed every 4 years. In addition to the above, all adults who work or volunteer with children at SH8C are required annually to read the church's a8reed procedures (including the Safe8uardlng Policy and good practice guidelines) and sign to confirm they have read and understood the information. Baptist Affiliation The Church Is part of the wider national body, the Baptist Union of Great Brltain, and is also a member ofthe West of England Baptlst Network Iwebnetl. The Church pays an annual subscription to the Baptist Unlon of Great Britain based upon its membership numbers. The Church also made donations to the Webnet's Partnershlp in Mission fund and Baptlst Misslonary Soclety during the Year. Church Building Trustees The Church Buildin8 Trustee5 are the West of England Baptlst Network Iwebnetl. Bl Church Financial Report Financial Summary The charitable incorporated organisatlon was dorniant through this accounting period. In antlcipation of the transfer of èll assets and liabilities to this organisation from l February 2025 £20.000 was received prior to the 31 January 2025 to ensure the smooth transition of payments across, along with a small number of individual receipts being received. The accompanying financlal ststements have been prepared on a payment and receipts basls. Principal Funding Sources The main source of funding for the Church Revenue Account Is offerin85 gwen by members of the congregation. Reserves Pol icy The Church has adopted a formal reserving polioi in line with Charity Commission guidance.
