## **Heytesbury Recreation Ground Trust** Annual Report Year Ending 30 April 2025 ## Aims i) The aim of the Heytesbury Recreation Ground Trust (HRG Trust) is to promote, for the benefit of the inhabitants of Heytesbury and surrounding area, the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure activities of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social circumstances, or for the general public in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the quality of life of the said inhabitants. ii) To raise sufficient funds to effect outright purchase and take ownership of the parkland. iii) To continue the development of the HRG, including the raising of additional funds in line with the agreed Objects and future plans that the Trust might, from time to time, devise and execute. iv) To work with and be sensitive to the views of legitimate Heytesbury community interests relating to the use of the HRG as these emerge, provided that these interests are aligned with the Objects of the Trust. ## Objectives and Activities The work of the first year of the Trust was to set up the operation and administration to enable fundraising for the purchase of the Parkland within Heytesbury. During the initial period, the majority of the work was media awareness and promotion of the aims of the Trust. Activities undertaken included: - Set up of banking services - Set up of administration email and website services. - Briefing to the village of the Trust aims and objections via public meetings, email and social media. - Development of pledge and donor lists HRGT Annual Report 2025 1 - Set up the mechanism for receiving pledges and donations. A huge amount of work was carried out by the trustees to connect with potential donors and create an initial list of contacts. The mechanism for obtaining pledges was agreed as a fester route for obtaining larger commitments. The aim will be to turn these into formal donations should any negotiations for land purchases be successful. From the promotion perspective, the Trust benefited from volunteers who had experience with social media and connections to traditional media sources. These will be utilised for an ongoing campaign of fundraising and pledge commitments. ## Financial Review As this was the first operational year of the Trust, there is only a very minimal amount of expense and funding recorded. The key method for fundraising being pledges had only recently started and therefore actual income was limited to a small donation of £100 to allow for the initial set-up costs of any media and IT services to support the Trust. Outgoings were limited to £14 for services from Ionos for website and email accounts. The coming year will be far more fund raising focused subject to our aims and objectives. ## Volunteers Given the aim to commit as little as possible cost to our initial promotion and fundraising, the HRGT would like to thank all the local volunteers who have supported leafleting, social media and press campaigns.
