The charitable objectives of Flowing Rivers Foundation are to advance the Christian faith, relieve poverty, promote education and support social welfare both in the United Kingdom and internationally. The charity will pursue these objectives through activities such as religious teaching and pastoral care, community support including foodbanks and care for vulnerable populations, programs for children and young people and international initiatives such as child sponsorship and supporting the operation of a children’s home in Kenya.
During the reporting period, the charity was financially dormant , receiving no donations or other income and incurring no expenditure. However, the trustees and volunteers undertook limited non-financial activities in furtherance of the charity’s objectives, including organisational development, planning, and preparatory work to support future charitable operations.
Non-financial activities during the period included: - approximately 600 clients served via the food bank with non-perishable food items and self-care goods donated and distributed by charity volunteers - 12 visits to Thameside Prison to facilitate Christian religious services - 6 visits to a local residential home to provide support and
companionship - 1 community festive event organised to promote social cohesion and community engagement
The trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and confirm that the activities undertaken were for the public benefit in accordance with the charity’s objects.
Achievements and Performance
As the charity was financially dormant, there were no measurable financial outcomes.
Non-financial achievements include: - Development of strategic plans for upcoming charitable activities - Establishment of internal governance and operational procedures - Engagement of volunteers to support the charity’s preparatory work - Delivery of community services as listed above, benefiting clients, residents, and local communities
