Structure, Governance, and Management

Stenham Foundation Trust (the “Trust”) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and is governed by its Constitution dated 8 May 2024.

The Trustees are named as the first charity trustees within the Constitution. Each Trustee will serve a minimum of two years. The Trustees give their time freely and no Trustee was remunerated during the year.

The Trustees meet four times a year to consider grant making, policies and the broad strategy and areas of activity of the Trust.

Charitable Objectives :

The relief of poverty or financial hardship globally by providing grants to organisations providing or assisting in education, training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to have access to this that they could not otherwise afford.

To advance in life and relieve needs of young people from social or economically disadvantaged backgrounds globally by providing grants to organisations:

Providing recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life; and

Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

Main Activities : Liaising with the ESG Committee to hear about charities that are close to the hearts of employees within the Stenham group.
Achievements and Performance

Summary of Achievements & Performance : Grants were made to two worthy charitable organisations:

Raise Your Hands : a UK charity providing a platform with a portfolio of small, but exceptional, charities all focused on disadvantaged children and young people in the UK to help them rise and fulfil their potential. Their portfolio at the end of 2024 increased to 15 charities, with number of children worked with increasing by 7%. Their charities address a wide range of issues, each one using a different innovative approach – from supporting young people with parents who have a mental illness to healing
trauma on a therapeutic farm, they are empowering vulnerable children and young people with a focus on fostering lasting positive mental health. Each charity within the portfolio received equal funding from our grant and provided income to each of the charities to support their work.
- LEAP Science and Maths School : a non-profit organisation in South Africa providing a network of low fee schools on a mission to provide children from under privileged backgrounds with access to a quality education and support in personal development in order to reach high education. During 2024, 100% of their students wrote Math & Science with 96% passing and 95% of students qualifying for study at universities. Our grant funded six students, as well as providing stationery and family emergency support. .

Reserves Policy : At present, the Trust does not hold any financial reserves. As such, it does not have a formal reserves policy in place. The Trust operates on a break even basis with income and expenditure closely aligned to ensure that all available resources are directed toward delivering its charitable objectives. Should the financial position change in the future, the trustees will review the need for a reserves policy in line with best practice and regulatory guidance..

- Future Activities : future activities for the next year will continue to consolidate its grant making to Raise Your Hands and Leap Science and Maths School.
Public Benefit Statement
- The objects of the Trust are such charitable purposes for the public benefit as are exclusively charitable according to the laws of England and Wales. The Trustees confirm they have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit.
