Report of the Trustees
for the period 7 May 2024 to 31 December 2024
The trustees of the charity present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the period 7 May 2024 to 31 December 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102) (effective 1 January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
To relieve the needs of children and young people aged 8-18 who are socially and economically disadvantaged and/or those with special educational needs/disabled up to the age of 25 through providing grants to youth charities or organisations to enable creativity through the arts, particularly ceramic arts.
Significant activities, achievement and performance and financial review
The charity received its first donation at the end of the reporting period of £25,000 and is held as an unrestricted fund in the charity's current account.
Public benefit
The Trustees confirm that they have given due consideration to the Charity Commission's General Guidance on public benefit. These requirements are addressed in this report.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT Governing document
Firedup4 is a foundation model Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission. The charities activities are regulated by the constitution document dated 22 February 2024.
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.
In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.
Decision making
Any decision may be taken either:

at a meeting of the charity trustees; or
-
by resolution in writing [or electronic form] agreed by a majority of all of the charity trustees, which may comprise either a single document or several documents containing the text of the resolution in like form to which the majority of all of the charity trustees has signified their agreement. Such a resolution shall be effective provided that
-
i. a copy of the proposed resolution has been sent, at or as near as reasonably practicable to the same time, to all of the charity trustees; and ©Third Sector Experts International Ltd Constitution for FiredUp4 8

ii. the majority of all of the charity trustees has signified agreement to the resolution in a document or documents which has or have been authenticated by their signature, by a statement of their identity accompanying the document or documents, or in such other manner as the charity trustees have previously resolved, and delivered to the CIO at its principal office or such other place as the trustees may resolve within 28 days of the circulation date.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the financial statements
The financial statements of the charity, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)' and Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland'. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
Income
All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to the funds, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.
Expenditure
Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
Taxation
The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities.
Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.
Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.
Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial statements.
2. TRUSTEES' REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS
There were no trustees' remuneration or other benefits for the period ended 31 December 2024.
