## **Expenditure**

Total expenditure for the year was £1,269 primarily related to:

- Advertising and marketing: £820

- Events: £420

- General and administrative costs: minimal

Expenditure remained modest and proportionate to the charity’s early-stage activities.

## **Surplus**

The charity recorded a surplus of £2,199 for the year.

## **Financial Position**

At 31 March 2025:

- Cash at bank: £2,199

- Total assets: £2,199

- Liabilities: £0

- Net assets/reserves: £2,199

All funds are unrestricted and held in cash.

## **Reserves Policy**

The Trustees aim to maintain an appropriate level of reserves to ensure financial stability and support future development.

At year end, reserves stood at £2,199. The Trustees intend to review and formalise the reserves policy as the charity grows.

## **6. Risk Management**

The Trustees regularly review the major risks facing the charity and have established systems to mitigate these where possible.

As a developing charity operating primarily online and with limited resources, the Trustees recognise the importance of proactive risk management.

Key risks identified include:

## **Financial sustainability**

The charity currently relies primarily on online fundraising and small-scale donations. There is a risk that income may fluctuate or decline. To manage this, the Trustees monitor income and expenditure regularly, maintain prudent reserves, and are exploring opportunities for diversified funding.

## **Capacity and workload**

The charity relies heavily on the time and commitment of volunteers and Trustees. There is a risk of over-reliance on key individuals and potential burnout. To mitigate this, the Trustees encourage shared responsibilities, flexible working practices, and ongoing recruitment and support of volunteers.

## **Safeguarding and wellbeing**

Given the sensitive nature of PMDD and mental health, there is a risk that beneficiaries may experience distress or require additional support. The charity seeks to manage this through clear community guidelines, signposting to professionals services, and appropriate safeguarding policies.

## **Reputational risk**

As a public-facing organisation, there is a risk that inaccurate information, inappropriate online behaviour, or external criticism could damage the charity’s reputation. This is managed through careful content review, evidence-based information sharing, and active moderation of online platforms.

## **Compliance and governance**

There is a risk of non-compliance with charity law, data protection, or reporting requirements. The Trustees address this through regular governance reviews, use of professional guidance where necessary, and ongoing trustee training.

The Trustees believe that these measures provide a reasonable level of protection and will continue to review and update risk management procedures as the charity grows.

## **7. Plans for Future Periods**

In the coming year, the Trustees intend to focus on strengthening the charity’s capacity, sustainability, and impact.

Key priorities include:

## **Expanding the volunteer and staffing base**

The charity aims to grow its volunteer network and, where funding allows, develop opportunities for paid roles on a zero-hours contract basis. This will support continuity, reduce reliance on key individuals, and strengthen service delivery.

## **Developing healthcare and workplace training**

The Trustees plan to expand training and awareness programmes for healthcare professionals and employers, with the aim of improving understanding of PMDD, supporting earlier diagnosis, and promoting inclusive workplace practices.

## **Increasing and diversifying funding**

The charity will focus on strengthening its fundraising strategy through grant and bid applications, partnerships, and other income-generating opportunities, to reduce reliance on individual donations and improve long-term sustainability.

## **Policy and advocacy work**

The charity will continue to develop and implement its policy and advocacy strategy, working to influence healthcare systems, employers, and decision-makers to improve recognition, diagnosis, and support for people affected by PMDD.

## **Raising awareness and media engagement**

The Trustees aim to increase national and regional media coverage in order to raise public awareness, strengthen credibility, and amplify the voices of those affected by PMDD.

Through these priorities, the Trustees seek to build on the charity’s strong foundations and ensure it is well positioned to meet growing demand for its services.

## **8. Statement of Trustees’ Responsibilities**

The Trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom accounting standards.
