|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|**Child Sponsorship/ Education**<br>The charity ended the year with 430<br>children having school fees paid so that<br>they can attend school, with 389 of these<br>having direct sponsors plus 41 who don’t<br>have direct sponsors being funded from<br>other donations and fund raising activity.<br>£26743 was raised from sponsors and the<br>charity paid a total of £27384 in school<br>fees. These children are now receiving an<br>education and school meals whereby their<br>families or carers could not have afforded<br>to pay for them to regularly attend school.<br>This improves education outcomes,<br>improving employment prospects in order<br>to break the cycle of poverty.<br>**Improving School Equipment and**<br>**Infrastructure**<br>£12,610 was spent on improving<br>infrastructure and equipment,<br>predominantly in schools. This included jiko<br>cookers being installed in 3 schools (fuel<br>efficiency delivers environmental benefits,<br>improves health outcomes and reduces<br>costs for the school). Wifi and water<br>connections in schools were funded.<br>Textbooks were bought and distributed to 8<br>primary schools.<br>**Food, clothing, housing and medical**<br>**support**<br>£9258 was spent in total, predominantly<br>funding monthly food drops for families<br>most in need, as well providing monthly<br>food for the HIV support group at Baragu<br>dispensary. Good nutrition helps their HIV<br>treatment be most effective. Improved<br>housing was built for 2 families and rent<br>waspaid for others. When sponsored|





children became sick and needed medicine or other medical support this was funded as required. Sanitary towel kits were produced and distributed in our partner schools.
