## **Principal Activities**
Poole Bay Archers (PBA) was registered as Charitable Incorporated Organisation on 17[th] April 2024, with the objective to provide archery facilities and opportunities in Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch and surrounding areas: to promote community participation in healthy recreation and the advancement of the amateur sport of archery in all its forms, except bowhunting and crossbows. To facilitate aims of the CIO, PBA provide facilities, equipment and coaching opportunities
## **Review of the Year**
During our second year the CIO has remained committed to the promotion of the sport of archery and the facilities at PBA, with archers attending events across the region, continuing to develop relationships with other clubs and fellow archers and ensure PBA is a known quantity in the southern archery community.
This year has seen 28 new members join, 80% of those having done their beginners course with PBA, demonstrating our commitment to promoting and making archery available locally. Our membership numbers continue their upward trajectory, and reinforces our belief that archery was and continues to be, a needed facility in the heart of BCP.
We have archers shooting an increasing variety of bow styles, and exploring the world of competitive archery, taking part in tournaments home and away. This saw a 100% percent increase in members achieving their first classification in 2025, and many improving on their previous awards. We are also extremely proud to boast that not only is 50% of our membership female, so is our Committee.
We ran four Introduction to Archery courses, totalling 28 places, and demand far outstripped what we were able to provide. We also received 20 requests for membership from lapsed and existing archers.
We broadened our selection of follow-on bows to allow new members to grow and develop their skills before having to commit to purchasing their own kit,
All in all, a brilliant second year for the Club.
As you can see from our Treasurer’s statement, it has also been a healthy year financially, with a turnover of £11,434.00, the majority of which was generated by membership and intro course fees Whilst the club still has those liabilities, with our first Intro courses of the 2026 fully booked, and a consistent number of returning archers joining, the future is bright for 2026.

## **Next year plans**
The Trustees, of course, hope to continue the successes of the first two years and continue to grow the club to ensure its long-term existence:
With that in mind three Introduction to Archery courses have been scheduled for March, May and September, with 42% of places already booked.
## **Trustees**
In accordance Clubs Constitution, at every annual general meeting, excluding the first AGM, of the members of the CIO, one-third of the charity trustees shall retire from office. The vacancies so arising may be filled by the decision of the members at the annual general meeting.
The members or the charity trustees may at any time decide to appoint a new charity trustee, whether in place of a charity trustee who has retired or been removed in accordance with clause 15 of the Constitution (Retirement and removal of charity trustees), or as an additional charity trustee, provided that the limit specified in on the number of charity trustees would not as a result be exceeded.
The Trustees of the CIO who have served from 23[rd] February 2025 to 22[nd] February 2026 were:

Barry Morris announced his retirement, and Andrew Fowler was elected as the third Trustee

section 42131 of the Charities Act 1993.

The Trustees policy with regard to the Charl$ Reserves is to maintain liquid funds sufficient to
cover normal day to day running expenses.
Investment Pollcv
The investment policy currently adopted by the Trustees is to maintain all funds in the same
account- there are no banks currently who will provide any significant interest to make investing
worthwhile. It was deemed more beneficial to spend money on equipment and to hire it out.
Trustees, Remuneratlon and Expenses
No payments or remuneration have been made to any Trustee dufing the year.
Since 1st April 2CM)9 an independent examination of the accounts is only required if the Charity's
gross income exceeds £25.000. The gr055 income for the year ended 31st August 2023 does not
exceed £25,1J)O.
Any Trustee may request an independent examination of the accounts. as may any Member of Poole
Bay Archer5. A tull and detailed copy of the account5 in electronic and manuscript book format is
available for examination by any Member who formally requests it.
Trustees. Remuneration and Expenses: No payrnents or remuneration have been made to any
Trustee during the year.
