Para 1.20 | In line with the principal purposes of Chesterfield Baptist Church, the church has worked for the advancement of the Christian faith through: · maintaining regular public worship, open to all, in person and on Zoom to enable the sick and elderly to participate including holding monthly Communion services. The church has benefitted from a variety of different speakers from within and from outside the church during this period of pastoral vacancy. · offering baptism with one baptism service in 2024. · holding weekly and monthly prayer meetings, again in person and on Zoom. · encouraging attendees to join a Bible study group (meeting at different times and places to best meet the needs of the diverse congregation). · providing Sunday morning teaching groups for children aged up to eleven years old most weeks of the year. Local families were supported more widely through 2024 with monthly Saturday morning family activities and until autumn 2024 through a weekly toddler group. · the work of the pastoral care group and Bible study groups in providing pastoral care to the congregation, both those able to attend and those who are sick or elderly and unable to regularly attend. This care for those who may be struggling is not restricted to the attendees of the church but extends to the wider community through the weekly ‘Renew Wellbeing Café’ which offers a safe space with activities, hot drinks and cake plus soup through the winter months. · supporting and encouraging charitable social action in the United Kingdom and abroad through specific fundraising events or in response to local, national or international events. Donations from members to Chesterfield Foodbank and Tools With A Mission (TWAM) are collected throughout the year. In addition, the building is used by a |
number of community groups, monthly Waste Not Café, monthly Repair Café, and weekly Chesterfield Child Contact Centre to support community needs more widely.

Para 1.21 | As of 31.12.24 the Charity holds funds of £116,326. This is made up of £44,964 in current accounts and £71,362 in deposit accounts. This is largely accounted for because we had only one part time employee for that time as we were in a pastoral vacancy and had no paid administrator. The Church’s assets were fully transferred to the CIO on 1st January 2025. |
