organisation registered with the Charity Commission, registration rturnber 1207879, and acts independently of
any other charity.

Trustees and meetings
The Body of Trustees consists of five people elected by the Members at th¢ Annual General Meeiin& Each year
one fifth of the trustees will retire. The TTu5t￿ to retire will be those who have been longest in offic¢ sin¢¢
they were last elected. New trumees may be nominated by any member, the board of advisors, or ihe This¢ees.
and will be elected by the members at the AGM. However. no person shall be eligible for ¢lection onto the Body
of TTU5tees if at the date of the Annual Genernl Meeting from which if elected he will hold office, or the date of
the T￿stee5, Meeting at which he is cO￿pted. he will have served ten consecutive years &$ a Trustee.
Trustees meet quarterly and give th¢ir tirn¢ freely. with no tsvstee remuneration or expenses paid.
The Chair of the Trustees is appointed by the Try*¢es imrn¢diately following the Annual Genernl Meeting and
is a trustee ex officio. Th¢ Chair of Trustees holth offi¢e for three years. after whi¢h they may be appoinied for a
second iemi of office but after the expiry of such se¢ond ienn will not be eligible for appointment as the Chair.

The Trusiees are re$pon5ibl¢ for preparing the Thi*ees' r¢N)rt and the financial ststrmertts in accordance with
applicable law and Uniied Kingdom Accounting Standayds IUnit¢d Kingdorn Generally A¢¢¢pted Accounting
Practice).
The law appli¢able io ¢haritie5 in England and Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for
each finoncial period whi¢h give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charithble Incotp)rated
Organisation and of its incoming resources and application of resources. including ILS income artd expenditure,
for that period. In preparing these financial Staternen￿ the Trustee5 are required 10:

observe the methods and prin¢iple5 of the Charities Ststement of Re¢ommended Practice (SORP 2019):
make judgments and accounting estimates that are re&sonable and Prudent;

The tTUStees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that are suffi¢ient to $how and explain the
charity's I￿nsactIOnS and dis¢los¢ with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and
enable them to ensur¢ that the financial stat¢ments compty with the Chariiies A¢1 2011. the Charities (Accounts
and Reports) Regulotions 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They ar¢ also responsible for safeguarding
the assets of the charity ond hence for thking r¢a50nable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other
irregularities.

The Johnson Association's objective is the wpN)n of the Se￿lar Ckrgy of the Archdio￿¢. who. on a¢¢ount of
ge or infiTmity. are no longer able io continue their parothial work and to support priests who are suffering
tempO￿ry illne5S.
The TTUStees confirn) that they have referred to th¢ guidance contained in the Charity Commi55ion's general
guidance on public benefit when reviewing the Aswiation's objectives and in planning ￿￿re #¢iiYities and
considering the grant-making policy.

charity The Johnson or Secular Clew Association of the Archdiocese of Birniingham (charity number 238681).
All charitable activitie5 of The Johnson or Secular Clergy Association of the Archdio¢ese of Binningham were
transftrred to The Johnson Clergy Associ*ion (Birniingham) CIO. on IX April 2025.
During the curreni financia] no financial transactions were entered into by The Johnwn Clergy
Assoeiation (Birniingh8m) CIO and th¢refor¢ the Association was donnant.
