The Trust was established on 16[th] April 2024. The Trustees include representatives from all the major podiatry membership bodies in the UK, in hopes that these bodies would recognise the importance of establishing a professional cross-body, independent research charity to provide finance for research into foot and lower limb disorders. Sadly, as the accounts show, with the exception of the Institute of Podiatrists, no support has been forthcoming from those quarters.
A website and email facility was provided gratis by Ms Kirsty Warne of the Institute of Podiatrists.
A number of Podiatry suppliers were contacted for support with negative results. Some donations were received from individuals.
Going forward, more efforts will be made to establish lines of financial support from commercial organisations and individuals.
