Charity registration number: 1207824

Objectives and Activities

SORP reference
Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 The purpose of River of Mercy Relief
Foundation is the prevention or relief of
poverty, primarily but not exclusively in
Pakistan by providing grants, items and
services to individuals in need and/or
charities, or other organisations
working to prevent or relieve poverty.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
During the reporting period, which was
the first since registration, the trustees’
efforts were focussed on opening a
bank account which would enable the
collection of donations which they
expect to make up the majority of
income.
Since the opening of the bank account,
donations have been received as shown
in the accompanying accounts. These
include some regular and one-off
donations to be allocated to projects
once established that align with the
charity’s purposes.
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit
Para 1.18 The Trustees accept their responsibility
to have due regards to the public benefit
guidance as published by the Charity
Commission and give assurances it is
operating for the public benefit.
Furthermore, the Trustees confirm they
are acting in the interest of the charity
and not for any private gain.

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 During this initial reporting period, the
charity has been able to spread
awareness of the levels of poverty in the
area it will primarily be active within.
This information is key to establishing
relationships with donors who will be
the foundation for the charity to carry
out its purposes and achieve its aims.
This led to some donations being
received, predominantly by
communicating the purposes of the
charity by word of mouth amongst peers
and personal circles.
The trustees have worked on avenues to
reach potential donors outside of these
circles, by scoping opportunities on
building an online presence so
information about the charity and its
purposes can be found in an easy and
accessible way.
